24 Looking to build Credit... What are some good tips on your first Credit Card

Those comments being go to creditboards.com ? Understandable .

But really, if this were the case then why are their a million threads on Pay For Deletes?

You said the bureaus don't like that.
No. Creditors sometimes report things that are not in the best interest of the consumer. MYFICO will not always help you with those issues. Users on creditboards will help you for free to make sure every account is reporting correctly. I'm only trying to help.

SMH, I get free FICO through Discover and Amex. The scores are 15 points apart

2 Different Bureaus , mine is about 15 points apart too .

IDK some know it all came in here and derailed the thread

This.

They are from two different bureaus so they are going to be different. Discover is from transunion Amex is from experian I believe

Credit Karma tryna sucker me into applying for a Capital One QuickSilver card

Even if I got approved, that card would increase my credit limit but lower my age of credit which would have a negative affect on my score :smh:

Credit history and student loans are killing my score right now and there's really no way around it :smh:

Student loans help actually as long as you're making on time payments. Just let your credit age fam it's a marathon not a sprint.

What I can tell is you have an affiliation with creditboards.

Ain't nothing but regular people on MyFICO. They might be credit fiends, but they are regular people.
Lol @ stay losin on MyFICO , what does that even mean? Its a forum .

Haven't posted on MyFICO in years only when I want to google something about credit cards.
That site deletes comments that FICO disagrees with.

Good info...I never knew this.

I heard about that Collection Shield 360, women in this group on Facebook swear by it. Any of yall use it, find a hard time believing it's free for what they supposedly do for you

Bad info.

Installment loans do not have a big impact on score if paid on time. Paying them off doesn't hurt you really help, a few points for the interest I dont think not.

Amex points are at the card level and not account right? As in if i have multiple amex points would generate per card and not all points pool to the accounts actual point balance

Lol bro what? So a loan doesn't help your credit? At first it seemed like you at least knew what you were talking about some but were just in here spewing stuff for no reason. Now I don't think you know what you're talking about at all

I hate to break it to you but installment loans only give you a few points. It's better to pay them off as soon as possible.

Credit cards mean more to your score.

Lol. People report that their score drops significantly after they pay off a car loan or something all the time fam. But alright if you say so. Loans only give you "a few points"

For you all that still think you know everything keep key keying.

The reason FICO looks at credit cards over installment loans is more than likely you will pay the installment loans over a credit card.

Close all your credit cards and see what happens. I'll take the installment drop any day.

I'm over 800 and no installment loans.

I never said if you close your cards it wouldn't drop fam. Everybody knows that. I simply told dude that the student loans are helping his score not hurting his score. And you said paying off loans help your score. And you don't know what you're talking about if you think that.

Actually giving good info is key. You said paying off the loans gives you a few points, when in fact paying off loans (auto/student/whatever) drops your score after they get completely paid off.
