24 Looking to build Credit... What are some good tips on your first Credit Card

Best travel / miles cards with low annuals?

Need a solid first travel card. Score shouldn’t be an issue

I have the delta platinum. The rewards are kind of *** now but the free checked bag and companion certificate are worth it.

My and my wife both have them so it’s 250 a year each but you get a free companion certificate off each one. If you travel solo it’s not worth it though.

Thanks for the info. I don’t travel alone usually but $250 is a bit steeper than I’d like right now. If the perks were 10/10 I’d consider it.

You won’t lose money as long as you use the certificate because it’s not hard to spend 500+ on a ticket and you get one free but yeah it isn’t as good as it used to be.

Chase sapphire preferred. $95 annual fee and you get 60k points ($600 cash) after spending 4K in 90 days. Points can be worth more if you use them different ways

Then there’s the sapphire reserved which has better perks, travel credit, etc but a $550 annual fee

All the best travel cards have big annual fees unfortunately. They are worth it if you travel enough though

Capital one venture x gives you 75k points after spending 4K and a $300 travel credit but the annual fee is $395. The annual fee cancels out the travel bonus tho. I just signed up for this I’m gonna use the travel credit and the bonus points then cancel before the next annual fee

Discover IT miles version will match all the rewards you earn the first year. No annual fee. Not sure what 1 mile is worth in $ tho

I looked into the Delta Plat cause I like Delta and usually fly them

Annual went up to $350 now and I heard the companion cert isn’t easy to use and can only be used on certain flights

That sucks

man, I forgot they raised the price. I never had an issue using it though. if they start making it hard to use I'm going down to the base card.

It’s hard even with the reserve or whatever the purple one me and my wife have

Gives you diff selection of flights and returning flights

Kinda sucks tbh

Now they raised it even more so a free flight not even worth it as much
