Deadstock or Non-Deadstock??? You tell me............

The only way I think someone can even possibly get 0 miles on a car is with European delivery (Buyer goes to Europe to pick up car from manufacturer, drive it around, register it, then have it shipped to the US as a used car). I see people on the BMW forum do it all of the time but Im not balling like them yet so I dont know first hand what the mileage would be not am i 100% on the details .

lol is this guy serious? a new car will ALWAYS have some miles on it because it has to be driven onto the truck to be delivered. What do you think they assembled it at the dealership?

And who do you think drives the car around the lot to be parked? Some of you guys just don't live in the real world I guess.

And deadstock to me, means I was the first person to wear them outside. I'm not really worried that some guy tried them on in his room or at the store.

crease = not deadstock

no crease = deadstock

Like any of you could tell if I tried on a pair of new shoes.

As long as you denote that a shoe has been tried on if youre reselling, i consider it ds or brand new...saying that its been tried on is just a courtesy because anyone should be able to tell the difference between tried on and worn...when there's dirt on the sole and/or creasing, its no longer ds

Exactly. End of discussion

so you can tell me if a pair of foamposites have been tried on?

I honestly do not care if a shoe is tried on as long as it at least looks DS.
Working in a shoe store, 90% of the shoes in the stockroom have been on someone's feet. Heck, we even try on Jordans before they're released. I tried on the Vs yesterday.

I never considered trying them on as UNDS'ing a shoe. If someone tries them on in the store on a carpet not getting dirt, then decides they don't want it, the shoe is flawed? Idk what y'all on. It's not DS to me when they are worn for USE and not try on. If that's the case a lot of people don't have a true DS shoe then :smh:

^ Thank you foamposite. I tried on plenty of shoes when I used to work at NTNY.

El. Oh. El.

This is why I come on NT while I'm at work...always good for a laugh.

None of you have ever bought a car with 0 miles. Also, you cannot buy a car from the manufacturer. Even if you go to Europe. If you buy a Chevy, you aren't buying it from Chevrolet, you are buying it from a dealer. Car manufacturers don't sell direct. You can go on their website, build a car, and then "order" it....the car goes to a dealer and you buy it from there.

As for shoes...the question was objective, not subjective. Deadstock. DEAD STOCK. When the stock shipment is sent to the US, they are "dead"...anything after that is UN-DEADSTOCKING. Thus the term, "un-ds".

Technically, if you try on a shoe, it is no longer DS. In my situation, I LOVE to relace shoes...even if I have no intention of wearing them anytime soon, first thing I do is relace them to how I will rock them. In that example, all of my "DS" shoes are actually NOT DS. Most people won't care, but some people are sticklers for "DS"

Also...when you buy a shoe from a retailer and they aren't factory laced, they aren't DS. Someone tried it on. Truthfully, it's only important to you suspect down the road resellers that buy sneakers to say you have it so you can sell it in 10 years as DS. I love seeing pictures of old DS shoes, but truthfully, I find it to be a lil corny. Why buy the shoe in the first place? Let somebody who...I dunno...ACTUALLY WANTS TO WEAR THEM, have them.

Peace.

Most people sell shoes as DS even though they've tried them on and walked around the house in them. I don't actually care if a shoe is DS as long as they are in good condition.

I know you know everything but do you really know everything? For BMWs, you pick your European delivery up from BMW Welt which is certainly not a dealer.
BMW Welt, Munich operates in co-operation with other BMW facilities in the local community, particularly the BMW Museum and BMW Headquarters.

Picking up your new BMW in Munich is the start of an unbelievable experience. The BMW Welt is home to automobile exhibitions, an automobile delivery center and an event hub all under one roof. Customers and visitors are provided with a closer-than-ever insight into all aspects of the BMW brand.

Yea, I did the BMW experience in 2011 when I went to Oktoberfest. Good times. I know you can pick up your BMW there, but again, I THINK you are still buying from a dealer, not BMW direct.

I didn't ask about the details of who payment goes through. I didn't read the Wiki article, but I did look at the BMW article...I dont think I read anything conclusive about who you are buying your car from, but I might be wrong.

And no, not everything...just like 99.7% of things.

Condom status...HA!

Often times, when cars aren't bought straight up (financed), the finance company is the manufacturer's finance dept. BMW finance, Honda Finance...etc.

In many cases, you will get a loan from BMW-direct (or any manufacturer except for Saab becaue they don't have a finance division) and pay the manufacturer direct, but you bought it from a dealer and the dealer has been paid...

Not lookin to argue with you Big J. You're one of my fave mods!! BFF's?

 my man

the wording is what it is when you want to say dealer or the manufacturer... the point was that you can have access to your car before its loaded onto docks or whatever and that would probably be the lowest possible miles you'd even see the car at IF getting a car at 0 miles was possible.

hopefully, ill do the Euro thing one day.... one day :smokin

Dude...they let you drive almost any BMW on a closed course. DO IT.

Truthfully though, you can easily get a BMW or a Mercedes as a rental and the autobahn has no speed limit...I had a little rental hatchback Peugot but I was DIPPING!

They need to have an autobahn here.... The US specially NY does not like auto enthusiasts one bit.... :smh:

the condition would be "pass as deadstock".. once you wear shoes they are no longer deadstock
