The Wizards do need Bennett's offense badly because outside of Wall, Beal and Nene I don't trust anyone else on the roster to score efficiently. But Bennett comes with his risks on defense (the hope would be for the Wizards to develop him into a decent defender or at least hide him) and general health. Porter could develop into a high end role player which the Wizards need moving forward. But you can scour the free agent market every summer for these type of players.
And on that topic, I'll be moving to the area next month. So I'll definitely have an eye on the Wizards.
For the first time in a LONG time, the Wizards actually have a good problem on their hands.
If they draft Bennett, it's an absolute must to re-sign Webster to a multi-year deal. Bennett gives them some much needed scoring. I honestly think that there is enough stability on the roster to help keep him in line and focused on the defensive end. He will be held accountable.
*I didn't include Nene b/c he's always injured
That line up has some potential.
