Official 2013 NBA Draft Thread

It all comes back to team need and what Washington is looking for with the third pick.

I got a feeling that Alex Len will climb draft boards and could be a top 5 pick come draft day

Despite their need at point guard, sources say the Magic aren’t sold on Trey Burke as the second-best player in the draft. While they certainly haven’t ruled out Burke with the No. 2 pick, Orlando is also eyeing Indiana’s Victor Oladipo and Kansas’ Ben McLemore. However, Oladipo and McLemore play the same position as Arron Afflalo, the Magic’s leading scorer last season. What gives? Sources say the Magic have a lot of interest in Clippers point guard Eric Bledsoe and would be willing to trade Afflalo for Bledsoe and Caron Butler’s expiring contract. Would the Clippers bite? Afflalo would give them an established veteran and a big upgrade at shooting guard to pair in the backcourt with Chris Paul.”

If you don't think he could stand to lose ten pounds, those maple leaf goggles you wear are strong than I thought. And asthma, even better :rolleyes

Otto is just a guy who you win with and already having a future all-star back court in place like the Wiz do, I'd take Otto. Otto is a better shooter than A. Bennet just didn't have the reps yet.

Bennett could turn out to be the best player to come out of this draft - but there are some red flags.

Porter is a safe pick and one who fits perfectly w/ the Wizards.

*I'm REALLY intrigued by Tony Mitchell. I'd like to see what he'd do on a team like the Bulls.

Mitchell can play, he's just borderline ******ed.

He'll end up falling to Round 2 somewhere and somebody will take a flier on him at a point they don't have to guarantee anything... Bring him in and see if he buys in.

Dude is a physical freak. He's just got to get on a team with a good veteran core and solid coaching to maximize his potential.

That's exactly why Otto makes sense for the Wiz, safe pick. I like Bennett A LOT but I don't see him fitting well in Washington. He needs to go somewhere like New Orleans, Detroit, or Portland, but I'm not sure if he slips that far.

Thomas Robinson might be up for grabs. Would probably take a future first round draft pick from a team with cap space instead of a first round pick in this upcoming draft (Rockets want to clear the books for a run at Dwight Howard).

T'Wolves should...

1. Trade Derrick Williams and the #9 to move up and draft Oladipo.
2. Then proceed to trade a future first-rounder for Thomas Robinson.

PG- Rubio, Ridnour
SG- Oladipo, Shved
SF- Kirilenko, Budinger
PF- Love, T-Rob
C- Pekovic, Stiemsma

I like Shved more as a (backup) PG than SG moving forward. He looks uncomfortable playing off the ball as opposed to having it in his hands and he can't shoot. But then that creates a log jam with Ridnour and Barea on the bench.

If Twolves move up i think its for Ben. They need another scoring option badly, but i doubt they get a top 3 pick for derrick + #9

Problem P is that he's a score-first PG which is my absolute least favorite. However, that'd be a nice change of pace to Rubio I guess.

I'd love for the Wolves to somehow put together a package to get their hands on McLemore Sam, but it seem slike Flip has made it abundantly clear on the radio & in interviews that he loves Oladipo.

Oladipo on the Twolves is good. They could use his perimeter D, he and AK :x.

Would be a terrible shooting team though, Love is the only consistent shooter in that lineup.

Painfully obvious that Indy needs a PG. I wonder if they can put together some sort of package to move up into the lottery for either Schroeder or Burke?

Rather wait until the teens and try to move up for Shroeder than go up to the lottery for Burke. Shane Larkin isn't working out for anyone past 19 so it looks like he got a guarantee.

They don't have any assets really beyond Danny Granger and I don't see what a lottery team needs with 17 mill worth of Danny Granger. Schroefer has a promise in the lottery too so it's hard to know how far to move up.

Plus there are some good prospects could fall to the like Shane Larkin or Erik Green, Pierre Jackson is the one I like the most, he's a terror on the pick and roll, plus he is a pure shooter with NBA range, big time competitor and leader.

They need a PG who can (eventually) give them more than what Hill/Augustin can. Indy has an amazing nucleus and adding a dynamic PG could be the move that puts them over the top.

Let me ask you guys...do you think any of Jackson/Larkin/Green will be better in the long run than George Hill? I'm not including Augustin, because he's awful. If Indy keeps their pick at #23, they have to hit a home run (if they pick a PG).

This draft has a good amount of solid PG's..Indy doesn't necessarily have to move up unless they are locked in to a certain player ...these guys could all be in play for them:

Pierre Jackson
Lorenzo Brown
Ray McCallum
Myck
Isaiah Canaan
Pressey
Nate Wolters
Erick Green

They dont need a day 1 starter, just somebody to help Hill out and can handle the ball and pressure without turnovers
