Official 2013 NBA Draft Thread

Its understandable that john wants a pick and pop 4 he wants a big to develop chemistry with knowing they will be going forward together

Plus his assist number will go up easy

Wiz would be fools to take Bennet over Porter assuming both are available.

Otto is a great fit along with Beal & Wall.

I'm not a Bennet hater either. Think he will have a good career

Bennett is a great fit too with more upside. In a weak draft like this, I'm going with potential.

Porter already is close to his ceiling as a player. At the next level he's a catch and shoot 3 who plays good defense, he'll have a tough time creating his own shot against most 3's in the league, he can't put it on the floor and he's slow. I watched both of them a lot last year and Bennett looked more NBA ready.

A catch and shoot 3 is something that'd benefit the wizards greatly and since he also plays d he'd find time in the rotation easy, doesn't matter if Bennett has more potential he would most likely not see that much time at the 4 if the team is healthy

I got you but Wahsington needs to address the SF

Yes honestly they need to take Porter it screams safe, which is what this organization needs, Bennett screams an MJ type pick

Why exactly does Washington "need" a safe pick?

They were a .500 team after Wall came back and 2014 Draft will be much better than this one should they happen to be falter regardless of who they pick.

Bennett screams MJ pick? Yeah he reminds me a lot of Adam Morrison, Biyambo and MKG, right.

You guys are forgetting one thing

Otto Porter is ugly. Also his name is Otto. This means he will spend more time on his basketball craft as opposed to chasing women

Washington needs a safe pick cause we messed up with the last SF we drafted by picking off potential

We need guys who are secure which otto is

Bennett being an MJ type pick cause in my opinion theres a huge if labeled on him, which is brought upon him cause hes a tweener

Too slow for the 3 and to small for the 4 i see him projecting into a slightly worse michael beasley

Thomas is also an expiring contract in 2014. :nerd:

Good insurance in case Kyrie goes down.

Kings offering Isiah Thomas to the Cavs for the #19th pick...
Considering the source, I don't believe this to be accurate.

unless Geoff Petrie is trying to scorch the earth before departing from his job, idk why he'd even be authorized to offer any trades

I actually don't hate the idea of trading IT either.... but I feel like he is worth just a tad more because of his low expiring contract

Good insurance in case Kyrie goes down.

After his contract expires they gain what 1 to 2 mil off the books which is nothing

Biggest puzzle is what do kings get out of that 19th pick, unless they are just trying to dump isiah

If that is the case, I hope there are more dumpings to come....

Isaiah Thomas is one of the few guys on the Kings team that they SHOULD keep. If they trade him for the 19th pick in this weak *** draft they definitely are just trying to burn that team down to the ground. Next they'll trade Cousins for Richard Jefferson and Biedrins.

But hey, if they are looking to move Thomas...Pacers need to get in on that ASAP.

Right if im the Pacers I call em after tonights game and say they could have the first round pick, 2nd rounder AND Augistin or any other bench player besides Lance

Definitely a fabricated trade. Doesn't make much sense from both sides. The Cavs take it just cause it's such good value but doesn't make sense.

JTIII on Otto Porter

"The breaking news is that John Thompson III thinks he’s by far the best player in this draft," the coach responded, with what sounded like a slight laugh. "And so if I had number 1, I would take him. If [someone] didn’t take him at 1, if I had 2 I would take him. And if [someone] didn’t take him at 2 and I’m the Wizards, I would take him. So that’s the breaking news: that I think he’s the most complete, the most ready player in the draft right now."
