Official 2013 NBA Draft Thread

Gasol compensates by being one of the best passing big men in the league. That ability is rare in a 7-footer.

If anything, Marc needs to become more selfish and aggressive.

Although I'm of the belief you can't develop a killer instinct in most cases. Can't teach MJ, can't teach Kobe.

Dont sleep on Len cuz the Terps guards dont know how to throw an entry pass...as long as he gives more effort on both ends he's going to be a solid pick

Jesus if Marc could ever get that attitude / a mean streak :smh: :x

If you could give him Z-Bo's attitude, 20/12/4/3

Hopefully the next coach builds the offense around him

Back to the prospects

Looking more at Caldwell-Pope, he's definitely a player. Great shooter, good off the dribble, good in the pick and roll, athletic and just a natural scorer. Reminds me of Beal actually and a young Lakers/Heat Eddie Jones

IMO the second best SG prospect behind Oladipo and ahead of McLemore. The more I watch Ben, the more disenchanted I become. Besides his shooting, you're betting on him developing into the player he could be and we've seen how that can go. He just doesn't strike me as a player who sees himself as a great player or understands the/his game in a cognitive context

I'm just weary of every Kansas kid high in the draft. It feels like they are groomed to be great college players and rotational league players.

I love McLemore. At worst, he's still an elite athlete that can shoot the NBA three and should be a plus defender pretty quickly, I'll take that as a baseline.

Ricky has a lot of baggage. 4 high schools, couldn't qualify, and a lot of leeches - just getting out of Providence will help.

Vic, McLemore, KCP for me.

McLemore can disappear/shrink at times. I question the killer instinct and general aggressiveness offensively.

McLemore's athleticism is deceptive though, he's got a lot of bounce but he's not particularly fast or agile. I don't see him becoming a great defender for that reason, he doesn't have a long wingspan and he was a bad defender in college. Usually if you're going to be a good defender in the league you atleast showed promise in school.

I threw this idea out on twitter...

what we saw about Indiana in these playoffs and this season was they are in dire need of a PG.

What if they can some how convince Chris Paul to opt out...or...

trade George Hill and Hansborough and picks and move up into the top 15 and draft Burke.

There's no way they'd be able to keep Paul George with CP and Hibbert on the roster.

Especially after he just said he wants the max.

And I doubt very seriously any lottery teams are looking to pick up George Hill's contract.

If Saric wants to stay in Croatia, just stay in the draft and let the Mavs grab you at 13.. It works for both because they would save the cap space and wouldn't have to give up the pick for nothing..
