Official 2013 NBA Draft Thread

Steven Adams is just a straight up gigantic human being, if you can teach him to play basketball even a little he will be an NBA player.

Its kinda like the Andre Drummond, process, too big too mobile to be worthless in the NBA.

Adams can't hold Drummond's jockstrap though.

He'll be lucky to be half the player.

Dre could potentially be the best big in the league years down the road.

I just think he sucks. If I need a goon to defend the paint and hand out 6 fouls, I'll overpay for one when the time comes.

please help me understand why when I watch the draft sometimes they will say things like "with the number two pick the _____ selected a solid player in ____.  He is comparable to Dale Davis...etc"

why would a team want to use a high pick to pick a dale davis type player?

then the next player to go is someone they compare to Chris Paul...or Kobe Bryant.

I dont get it.  I say pick the BEST player available.  99 percent of these "dale davis" types end up being sorry as hell. They are so easy to find in free agency.  I say go for the home run.

Liking Schroeder the more I watch him, he has a great feel for the game and his abilities. His frame is great especially if he puts on 10-15 pounds

I'm not saying he's as good,

Just think about this Drummond was worse in college. they have very similar reaches, height weight, both very young.

I'm just saying, there is a TON of potential in that body.

He was god awful at the beging of the year, but by the end he looked like he was figuring it out, he was excellent in that Wichita state game.

7 feet, 260, mobile, massive frame, long arms, watch him play defense, look how mobile he was hedning screens.

If you have faith in your player development staff, Steven Adams is a good pick 10 and below.

Most of the guys on the broadcast don't know anything about college hoops. The NBA guys don't pay attention to it. Not sure who is broadcasting this year but listen to Simmons, Chad Ford, and especially Jay Billis. The rest of them are usually clowns who have only looked at these college guys since the finals ended last week.

would be nice to look at past years predictions and see how many of these analysts were right/wrong about certain players (sleepers, busts, etc)

OKB: I have that faith in Nog, if you stash him for two years.

Defense and rebounding.

Might end up being better than Splitter.

Chris Sheridan [emoji]10004[/emoji] @sheridanhoops

EXCLUIVE: #Bobcats shopping Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and will look to replace him with Otto Porter using No. 4 pick. http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/06/25/source-bobcats-shopping-kidd-gilcrest-to-draft-otto-porter/
Would the bobcats be dumb enough (if porter is there at 3) to swap picks w/ the Wizards AND include MKG? Wizards would then take Bennett at 4.
given up MKG just to move up one spot? nawwww

Mj cant be that dumb to give up on MKG already tho right? a team like OKC should go after him if he really is on the block

Giving up on MGK after one year is crazy to me. He's got a high upside. If I'm the Wizards and this is actually offered, I'm jumping all over it.

I'm cool on that.

That means the Wizards would have to pay both MGK and Bennett eventually. Plus Beal...and this would be after likely giving Wall the Max.

Only way I take that deal if I'm the Wizards is if Charlotte take Nene back.
