Official 2013 NBA Draft Thread

Agreed, Alx, I'm sure Jordan Crawford can light it up in workout too but come game time they just get in the way.

Give me Archie cause if Archie was in college for three years it wouldn't be close to who would be the better player.

HB compared to Darius Miles. LOOOOL.

Give me Archie over lil Timmy without thinking about that one.

This guy really thinks Waiters will be a better player than Barnes?

I understand your a Cav fan, but no. Y'all should have took Drummond, Waiters is an inefficient kinda athletic guard who makes no sense playing alongside Kyrie.

Hardaway is bigger, better shooter and I think he's every much the athlete Archie is tho. Only thing Hardaway is lacking in is aggressiveness. Which could be a small or very big hurdle for a team depending on the coaching staff.

Archie does have a certain star potential to him. His handle combined with his athleticism and mindset could be good.

not to say barnes isn't balling , he suprised me at the 4 with his back to the basket game

but i love backcourts like the one cleveland has ...could just be my taste though

I like Hardaway Jr over Archie, better shooter, longer, just as athletic, more experienced and his bloodline gotta count for something.

I watched Archie a lot and I was very dissapointed by his lack of leadership and his shot selection. He's a great athlete and has a good handle but his shot is not NBA ready. It's rare that an elite athlete at the guard position doesn't thrive under Cal even for 1 year. Granted he played with Harrow who is a bum and was forced to play the 1 often which isn't his natural position but he'll probably have play there in the league anyway.

I can't really see the parallels between Jordan Crawford and Hardaway Jr. Both can shoot but I think Crawford's better with it on the floor, plus a much quicker first step. But either way, I see what you're saying.

Most seem to be on Archie, so I definitely could be wrong but we'll see. Age thing doesn't matter to me after 10 or so... pretty much unless you're taking a guy in the Top 5 (Wes Johnson). Because after that a guy that'll be 19 when the season starts or 21... I just want the better player.

Most of us aren't saying Waiters won't be a quality player.

But we're entitled to believe Drummond's potential and athleticism as well as Barnes' growth in GS' playoff run could amount to something better than what Waiters has to offer.

Barnes has it all. His fundamentals are as picture perfect as you can get, he has a great post up game, can shoot from outside as well as mid-range, can play that stretch forward role, makes great decisions and knows when to take over a game. He's the type of player that's going to be an All-Star on a contending team...while with Waiters you get the sense he'll be a guy that'll get buckets and highlights on a crummy team (unless he's a 6th man in the OKC Harden role).

Lol. No one cares. I'm sure Detroit is happy about AD, Golden State about HB and Cleveland about DW.

Meth needs to take the last few pages away as well ..

Thought this was the 2013 NBA draft thread.. Sheesh

....

Anyway. To the things that matter I'm just hoping for a top 3 pick..

What do you guys know about Rudy Gobert?

So wait, question, if the Cavs end up with number 1? Do you take Nerlens? Trade back? Or take someone else?

You have to ask yourself who the Cavs have on their big board.

From what I've read and what people on the Cavs forums say, their big board goes:

1. Noel
2. Porter
3. Len

Now .. To answer your question I personally think its risky to draft Noel just because of him coming off an injury, not playing in a while, and now he's in the NBA which is a whole new thing for him to come back to let alone coming back from an ACL injury.

The Cavs also have 22 mil in cap space so via free agency they can make signings but we all know they and ammo for next summer for the "return" but I don't even want to get into that.

Porter is the perfect fit. They drafted a PG and PF in 2011. They drafted a SG and C in 2012. They need to get a SF and Otto is that guy.

In a weak draft like this one., I'd personally go Porter but if you can trade down a few spots then do it.

I just don't think the Cavs will get the first pick but I guess you never know.

I think most teams are eyeing Noel and Ben as they should
