Consequence still mad at 'Ye. This mog is hilarious!

*coughs*

P.S.:

oh ya, this was performed BEFORE kanye paid him 20 stacks to make the song his own... that's some great "bouncing off ideas" to me...
SMH. i never seen this. this was the one that blew him up too. I could see buyin the beat with the sample an what not but the whole first verses too? thats some puff daddy ish
damn, Ye only paid him 20 stacks for that?
i wonder if he gave him some more money after that ish blew up tho

So getting on the radio with your annoying as ***** and ranting about what Kanye didn't do is what the "old school" would do? And then gossiping bout when he slept with Kim. That doesn't sound very old school, in fact it sounds pretty new school and drama heavy like all these other reality TV ppl.

Whether Cons is telling the whole story or not that whole interview came off real *****made, whiny, and over dramatic. And I'm not saying this because he's talking about Kanye, it could've been about anybody and I'd have the same opinion.
I wasn't referring to his interview, I was speaking in general. I agree it came off a whiny etc, but he answered the question he was asked. The gossiping etc was overkill, but he didn't duck the question.

Damn!!!! Mind is blown, has no idea this wasn't ye's song

Nice info about Jesus Walks. I knew 'Fest wrote that, but I never knew about Kanye buying his own beat back and the changes he made to the song.

Wish "Brand New" and "Grammy Family" blew up for Cons and Fest. Those were probably 2 of my favorite songs fron around that time. Rhymefest's 06 album was dope as hell too.

you got cats killing DREAMS in this thread

Santa Claus aint real

the Easter Bunny really aint leaving money under the pillow

and Kanye (NT's prodigal son) is NOT the lyricist hes given credit for

...whats next?

i mean, this negro launched a mega multi million dollar CAREER off that song alone. if Rhymefest aint getting multiple points off anything Kanye related since then he got jerked

"Top 5 MCs you gotta rewind me" my ***

These dudes were just as essential in Ye's career as NO ID, Jay and Dame were. You mean to tell me Kanye was too much of a "bigger man" to not pick up the phone and just say congratulations?

Let's chill sir . . . Gold Digger (with a boost from Jamie Foxx/Ray association and the Katrina comments) and Stronger (along with the Graduation album in general) were what made him THE Kanye West

He could have easily dropped College Dropout and then came with a second album dud

Bottom line, ghostwriters or not, Kanye's "strength" has never been being the most lyrical . . . it's the ability to construct songs, produce, and knowing pop culture trends and being able to predict how people will react to different things.

"Gold Digger and Stronger are what made him Kanye West" son how many  you want?

College drop out and Late registration had a plethora of hits on them they're what made him the "Legend", many of you believe that he is. And both albums were brought to you thanks to Consequence, Rhyme Fest etc...

Dude said Jesus Walks made his career . . . whichever album you think is better is irrelevant . . . I said Gold Digger, Stronger (and moreso Graduation and the whole radio-friendly sound throughout that album) are what made Ye a staple in mainstream America

Even if we stop at College Dropout and Late Reg . . . Cons and Rhymefest didn't touch a MPC, didn't bring in Jon Brion and co. to get that orchestra sound, etc.

Kanye has never been the best lyricist, but he definitely is the best at bringing a well-rounded and complete sounding album with no filler (barring Cruel Summer I can't defend him on that, he put Keef and 2 Chainz on the album

He was already a staple in mainstream America before those two songs, and it's because Jesus Walks shook up the world. Gold Digger was a huge hit I'll give you that, but "Stronger" ? really bruh? I'm not denying the song's success, but you're quick to forget his highly publicized contest with 50 cent (who was a staple in mainstream America at the time) to see who would sell more. The competition definitely pushed singles and album sells up for these two.

Oh yeah that 50 thing definitely helped him out I agree with you there (That 106 episode was so dope), but have nothing to do with Cons or Rhymefest, & like I said, Graduation and that era for Ye in general (Mom situation and the Grammy performance too) is what cemented him.

And like I said from the start, The 50 contest, Graduation, the production, the orchestras, the bringing in of Jon Brion and Mike Dean, etc. were way more important than Rhymefest doing the first verse of Jesus Walks. Cons and Rhymefest would be in Kanye West's position if they were as important to West's legacy as people in this thread are trying to make it out to be, all I'm getting at.

kanye learned alot more from jay-z then we give him credit for.

if da revalations that kanye basically doesn't write **** and got people to write for him, HAVOC > kanye in terms of best rapping producer.

The first time Kanye got a HUGE look was when he performed Jesus Walks at the MTV Video awards with that big a** choir and what not. It wasnt the only thing that made him a star but it put him in the limelight for those next songs to get him further.

Stop arguing. Everybody knows Graduation is what made 'Ye

No question

IMB>anything kanye related

Damb minus well change the thread title to kanye gettin exposed

I understand having people help with the writing process cuz I'm pretty sure labels have songwriters signed and they gotta put them dudes to work so I can understand having them provide you with a hook or maybe even some concepts or a line or two

But to have another rapper blessing you with a whole verse nah son

College Dropout ,Late Reisgtrstion are what made ye .He introduced folks to a young Lupe Fiasco who won't on to drop two great albums .Folks forget that Kanye was the Everyman rapper at first he coulda easily been an nter he talked about being broke ,being young black and working a crispy mall job and struggling with school and his future .He was the product of a post different world gangsta rap era black kid .He was the black middle class embodiment at one point in time young black male with no clue what to do what to stand for bit knew he had to fit in this Boack world some how.

without that SOLID rock hard foundation of college dropout and late registration, there is no kanye west now...period.

kanye west gonna go down in history sure, but he's gonna get looked upon da same way DR. dre does...awesome producer, and innovator with sound

but da pen game got balco taint on it.

and unlike other cats on this website, i dont subscribe into kanye west did fashion wise, i respect da jewelry, but clothes? it

was never that serious, he stopped being relate-able after graduation...son just off da deep end wit leather skirts.
