If you are a devout Christian/Muslim/Jew/ect there is no way I can take you seriously on any subject...
if they bring it up at least or happily remind you about it. I reached out to an old friend from High school this year about some life advice. wanted to start a pen pal thing. Second this girl brought up her muslim faith and "look to god for the answer" I dropped contact. can't have that

Also that FB you posted DC makes me want to kill myself

See statuses like this are just dumb to me, as if God told folks to make the status or something
My name is ***** ******* ***** and I believe in Jesus Christ ... He said deny me in front of your peers and I will deny you in front of my father. If you are not ashamed put your name in place of mine and make it your status ‪#‎facebookchallenge‬

I always cringe a little bit when an nt'er makes a thread asking people to pray for him / her or someone they know. I wish them luck though.

I gotta say... I don't agree with the religious tolerance that is currently being pushed down out throats... Why is it wrong for me to discriminate against a person or group of people who believe in something fictional and harmful?... It's not like being black (or any race), gay, or trans... You have a complete choice to believe in fairytales... And I should have complete choice to discriminate against you for those same beliefs... Just as I would have complete choice to discriminate if a person believed in ghosts that kill Bassett Hounds...

^^^
so they must believe what you believe or be discriminated against?
Discrimination of any kind is wrong because we are all human beings. Everything else is a subdivision, category, compartment that is stifling to any kind of progress or advancement to our species.
What you kickin sounds just like racism, homophobia, islamophobia, etc to me. Just cus you choose differently dont make you less than bruh.

so before your Dr. goes over your test results, you check him bout his beliefs?....

Yes I would prefer to have an doctor who doesn't believe in in hocus pocus ...

Is discrimination wrong when used against people for the way they're are born?... Absolutely... Whether it be your gender, race, sexual preference, language, ect it us wrong to discriminate against that things... And those are all things people can't control about their selves... Discriminating against a black person because he was born black doesn't make sense to me at all...

But religion is unlike any of those things... You CHOOSE to believe in religion (whatever it maybe)... You make a thoughtful and consciousness CHOICE to become a Catholic, Jew, Muslim, ect... You aren't born a Catholic, you BECOME a Catholic...

Discrimination is perfectly acceptable when it's used against at things that are not "socially acceptable"... Pedophiles are discriminated against... Felons are discrimated against... I'm general bad people are discrimated against... And to me, religion is the single worst thing in the world today... Entire regions if the world are held down and not able to truly advance because of religious interference... It has been metaphorically raping millions of people of their freedom for centuries... It is worse than any isolated crime committed by individual humans... It's an entire belief system used to brainwash and undermine humanity...

So why is it wrong to discrimated against a person who believes in such a thing?...

Yall bugging in here :smh: :smh: :smh:.
I'm a 23 year old Normal Laid Back Christian and I don't force my religion on no one.

How I live my life and what I go thru is my walking testimony.

There's a difference between being a Laid Back Normal Christian and being a Radical Christian.

A Radical Christian
Hoops And Hollers,
Quick to Judge & Condemn like Ra Ra Ra Your Going To Hell For This And That. For Being this and that. When They Don't Have The Power/Final Say So to do so.
Force the word into people when they have to freely want to come and want know the word.

my dad is a example of a radical Christian.
Constantly preaching to someone.
Church would be over everybody's leaving and we have to wait an hour to go home because him having small talk with someone about the preaching turns into a full blown debate.
Ego got him feeling like knows more than the pastor
A simply 30 sec prayer before family, thanksgiving/Christmas dinner he turns into a 30 min off topic condemning sermon :smh: :smh: :smh:
Thinks he is the most perfect human being when in actuality he messed up my family.
Moms got fed up with his ego and divorced him.

IMO you're free to criticize and even discriminate when it comes to your personal circle of friends and what not but openly discriminating against ppl because of their religion just won't fly in America.

Like it's one thing to say I don't want to be your friend because you believe in the story of Job and another thing to say I don't want you working with me because you believe abstinence before marriage is the best choice to prevent teenage pregnancy and contracting sexual diseases.

I'm tired of ignorant religious people. I'm a big fan of educated religious people.

One of them is Lance Stephenson and the other is Shane Battier. If you are ignorant, religion always seems to be an excuse or battle cry. If you are educated, it seems to be a guidepole to live (and let live) in a way that builds the bonds of society in a multicultural world.

I dunno, I remember in a lot of the old atheist threads pics scientists being posted who didn't follow any kind of religion. Sort of relaying the idea that a scientific mind was smarter and wouldn't believe in something like god. But when you look at people in the medical field you see a lot of followers of religion.

The medical field isn't necessarily the same thing.

It's like a sub group under the banner of science. While Medicine has been broken down to a science the professions aren't comparable to other fields so you naturally get different types of ppl drawn to each.

Plus a lot can't help how they were raised and get a bit lazy in not officially changing things and just sticking to social norms of mentioning heaven, hell, GOD, praying, etc.

There are those that do somehow try to legit stick with both. I hear a lot from those that do of the more you discover as a scientist about the universe the more reason you have to believe in GOD (not necessarily religion).

Wild concept.

No way I believe 10% of the people that pray honestly pray. I mean what do they do, address God asking him to make sure a SCREENAME is ok? Yea sure LOL

He didn't believe in a personal god, though.

What I have always said about people that "talk" to God. You are essentially talking to your conscious

Been an atheist all my life pretty much.
When I got in the 1st grade I chose to not take catholic class because I didn't believe in god. I took ethics instead. For the first year or 2 it was just me and a muslim boy

I think that organized religion is a plague to society. The problem I see in religion is the cancerous effects it has on the world and our progress in society.
I put the blame with the religion itself and the people in power who don't seek to improve that situation.
For example religions such as christianity are one of the main reasons, possibly the sole reason, why the gay community still has to struggle against oppression. The church has been pumping the idea that being gay is bad and sinful for countless years
I don't mind religion that spreads positive vibes such as buddhism, I support that and I think their culture is pretty interesting

You can take Catholic Class OR Ethics Class... That should tell you enough right there... You can take one but not both :smh:...

Everyone says you cannot be religious and scientific but the notion that such an existence is inherently oxymoronic is a profoundly unscientific one that can only be based on literal, absolutist understandings of holy texts and an appalling failure to contextualise them temporally, culturally, socially, and geographically. To understand faith as a private, otherworldly, soul-enriching experience is to also understand that it can only enhance, rather than clash with, anything else.
