Joe Budden - No Love Lost (2/5/2013)

I will mos def support. Joey hasnt let me down inna while. Mood muzik series was something serious. Even if this is an attempt at mainstream fans buddens verses should still be on point. Like most have said before me he deserves achance at some mainstream success and this may be his last chance. On a side note his verse on truth or truth from the slaughterhouse mixtape isnt fair

I cant hate for him trying to get another chart topping album, but he has gone about this all wrong. Why is this the first time people are hearing about this album? How much does he really expect an album thats dropping next week, with no single out from what it seems, and no promo to sell? Hes not about to reel hundreds of thousands of people doing it like this. Then judging by the track listing, it looks like something his OG fans arent gonna want so there goes those potential sales.

It just doesn't make any sense

I'm saying I knew about the album but I didn't know it was dropping this soon. The strategy his using just doesn't make sense. I guess the show is his promotion. Like somebody said above Joey comes off as corny especially because of the show and I don't even have to watch it to know that.

if you wanna keep it all da way 100, love and hiphop turned me all da way off from joe budden.

twitter was making him come across as a cornball a lil, but that reality show sealed da deal for me.
for once i agree with him

Joe Budden said he doesn't care what people think of him working with Wayne. that alone will make him lose his original fanbase.

And this is why I won't buy it. Back to his joebudden.org days and live chats, he always said he had 0 interest and would never work with Wayne. I get it, he wants to sell records but I think these features hurt his sales UNLESS he gets lucky and one of them catches fire but I doubt that will happen.

Be honest. If you've been a Joe fan since the live chat days and you're not supporting him for all the free music he's given you all these years, you weren't gonna buy anyway. You're just looking for a reason NOT to buy it.

I don't expect him to have the same views towards rappers for 8-9 years. Work with who you want, as long as the music is quality

Thank god there are still rational music fans on NT.

I never watched love and hip hop. I follow him on twitter and IG and some stuff i thought was corny but whatever. I actually realling liked loose quarter. So i will be picking this up. The dude still to this day has a way of saying things the way no one else can.

"Love me from far cause you scared to get close
But what are you fearing the most?
If happiness is the finish line I beat you there
I always thought that when you’d put the baggage down I’d meet you there"

This doesn't make any sense to me.  At his best, Joe Budden wasn't some alternative backpack rapper.  When I first listened to MM2 I was impressed like "this guy has what it takes to be a mainstream star on some good beats."  He had Jay-Z esque qualities and was a total package in terms of flow, wordplay, etc.  Yeah the introspective stuff was cool but rap is about the medium not the message and a lot of that was window dressing basically.

Padded Room just wasn't the same in terms of the technical aspects of rap that made those mixtapes so impressive.  I haven't really been as excited about him since.  The guy's not a behind-the-scenes rapper and I'm tired of him being on terrible production etc.  He's most interesting as a guy you look at and say "Wow, he should've been a Rocafella star back in '04."

Joey should of never said anything about his fans being mad, that whole attitude itself doesn't make you a favorite in the public's eye. he messed up big time. that Wayne feature only got him some moderate play on the radio, nothing more. we'll see how much he'll sell overall.

I've bought everything he's physically released. I have hard copies of MM2 and MM3 (mix tape version with the bonus DVD), the versions that were sold on his site and not in BB. I have the physical copy of Halfway House a very limited amount were produced. I actually feel bad about not buying his album, he's been my favorite rapper since 05 and I have been roasted from 05-09 for claiming it. I'm not looking for a reason NOT to buy, I'm looking for a reason to buy. This will be the first physical release by him, that I don't buy.

Of course his music is gonna change, MM4 wasn't too depressing and you could hear that he was happy. After his show a couple years ago, I told him congratulations, he sounded like he got over the hump and is in a better place. I still think he's headed backwards and not forwards but that's just my opinion. "A Loose Quarter" was HORRENDOUS. The features on it were shameful, that SLV **** is a joke. I'm happy he's making money and I hope nothing but the best for him. His music has done more for me than any other artist and I'll always be thankful for that but Kirko Bangz and Lil Wayne.

Seriously it's like he thinks we don't remember these things. Alienating your OG fan base is never a good idea, there's no guarantee that you'll pull in newbies bit at least you had the die hards to rely on.

I'm still going to check it out, I've been riding with the guy forever but you guys have to admit this track listing doesn't scream good Joe Bidden project.

I liked loose quarter.

I'm not even tripping about the Wayne feature though. What gets me is Kirko Bangz, Juicy J and French Montana. In addition why is he doing a song with French now he could have been done a song with French. I mean i'm still going to check out though.

You won't find a bigger Joey fan than me. Been listening since 2002. The recent SH stuff has been weak, loose quarter was really good but im skeptical of the album. The features worry me but he has a solid list of producers...and yall cant hate on him for trying to make it. He was underground and "unknown" forever. That being said till the shady vehicle gets behind an album i doubt he can really shine. Maybe he'll do asap #s and do 120-150k with the L&HH crowd that would be excellent for him.

^I would be completely shocked if he does anywhere near that. Though I've only seen the show once, even though I'm on the internet a lot, I didn't know anything about this album until ten minutes before I made this thread. On top of not having a single, and the show being the only promotion, I just don't see that happening. It would be good for him if it did, but I just don't see it. I'l just throw 55K out (which I feel is VERY generous) and see what happens. That would be more than Big KRIT and Future, who both had varying degrees of promotion.

and here goes the it has mainstream artist so i'm not supporting crowd :smh:

Word. If you've been rocking with Joey as long as some of ya'll claim to be it shouldn't matter. If you supported then you should be supporting now. That's pretty much what it means to be a Budden fan.

Will give a listen. I felt like loose quarter was a bit emotional but decent none the less. Hope he has some good stuff on this.
