2013 NBA Trade Deadline Thread: February 21

I really think Morey is gonna just pull the trigger and land Smith. BUT IS HE WORTH THE MAX?? Damn.
HELL NO he isn't worth that max. I'm against getting Josh Smith because I'm not a fan of giving up anything substantial for a player that is a ufa next summer. Josh Smith is good, but that's it. He's not great, he's not a superstar.

How about Demarcus Cousins for Josh Smith?

Sonics would get a new "Reign Man" type player to bring Seattle back with.

:nerd:

I don't think Sactown would part ways with Cousins. Yes, he has issues but he is the future - you pair Smith with Cousins no separate them

Hawks, Bucks seriously talking on Josh Smith deal, sources tell Y! Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh among players discussed for Smith, Devin Harris.

Lakers offering Steve Blake, Chris Duhon, Devin Ebanks, Darius Morris for 2nd-rounders, sources say. Looking to unload, free roster spots.

what a package by the Lakers!!!!

It is terrible.. But he's done better with worse.

Why would the lakers trade a team a new Big Three? Lakers are just too smart.

The Rockets can sign only one guy in for the max this upcoming summer right now.

So the only possible way it would be possible is if the Rockets traded Asik and Lin for Smith.
Lin is getting $8.3 million the following two seasons. The $5M-$5M-$15M only applied if the Knicks matched the offer sheet for Lin from the summer.

Player
2012/13
2013/14
2014/15
2015/16
2016/17
2017/18
James Harden
$5,820,416
$13,668,750
$14,693,906
$15,719,062
$16,744,218
$17,769,374
Jeremy Lin
$5,000,000
$5,225,000
$14,898,938
Again, Morey found a loophole in the CBA that would have forced the Knicks to pay Lin $5M-$5M-$15M had they matched the Rockets' offer sheet. The Knicks didn't match, so instead Lin is getting paid $8M-$8M-$8M the next three years.

I thought the Lakers wanted to make the playoffs, and there trying to move Blake? Duhon??

Wow bro

Bring the tanks out.

- Indiana, San Antonio, Milwaukee, Detroit, and Washington all showing interests in JJ Redick - Broussard

- Trade to watch: Udrih-to-Dallas in play but Beno won't be dealt on own til end of deadline in case Bucks need him in bigger (JSmoove) deal - Stein

- Portland's effort to find a first-round pick for J.J. Hickson "doesn't look good right now," league source says. - Berger

- Toronto has emerged as the frontrunner to land Suns guard Sebastian Telfair in a trade.

Did not know teams were lining up for Sebastian Telfair...

And JJ Hickson, Udrih and JJ Reddick are the other "top players" on the market? I might as well not even pay attention to any of this today.

youre right. my bad. gilbert arenas provision left that hole open. so basically defeated its whole reason to be added.

Crazy how Redick has improved his play and value. A lot of credit goes to him and Stan Van Gundy. He honestly looked like he was going to be out of the league two and a half seasons in.

Man lets get this thing started already! I'm at work anxiously waiting for something to happen.

totally agree. and morey needs to flip trob for love or hold on too him no j smoove youll be able to get him in the offseason for less than max (unless phx does something stupid which they might) but always rememeber texas has no income tax

Apparently Thomas Robinson is unlikely to be re-routed because he and the other players that got traded would have to pass their physicals, and there's probably no time for that before the deadline.

Welp.

I think monta deserves to go somewhere else. Him on the bucks makes no sense. For some strange reason i can see reddick on the Lakers.

The Indiana Pacers are unwilling to give up a first round pick in exchange for J.J. Redick.

Redick remains available, with the Pacers, Bulls and Spurs among the candidates for his services.

The Pacers are reportedly amenable to a minor trade involving Gerald Green, D.J. Augustin or Tyler Hansbrough.

I dont want Reddick, we need size, we have plently of shooters, we need a big who can impose his will on defense.

This is true though and I'm happy for the guy, he just isnt what we need right now. We need Al Jeff. I've given up on Smith, cause he doesnt deserve max money and we wont pay him.
