Yo you have no idea what different lifestyles can raise. You talk all this deep talk and claim Nigeria's superiority over the rest of Africa, yet you have a the most limited understanding of social issues because you choose to see things on a micro level.

Anyway though when one is closed minded they are viewed as bigots, whats the opposite to some one who is under the impression they are open minded?

I never claimed Nigeria's superiority, I openly criticize the country's shortcomings (unlike ninjahood who thinks he lives in a Utopian society where women know their place and gays get executed). Nigeria is also very heterogenous society, they don't even get along with one another. The country tried to exterminate my tribe during the civil war but thats a long story. With that being said, nothing wrong with being proud of my people's accomplishments. I already covered this concept pages back, just because I think German cars are great doesn't mean I support the holocaust.

I have an understanding of social issues on a basic level, if you were raised in Alabama in the 1700s I shouldn't be shocked if you become a racist. Nothing about ninjahood is indicative of someone who can overcome the negative influences of his society. Hell dude has probably never left Wash Heights except to visit DR.



Ninjahood is no Ben Carson, he is not an inspirational tale of a Rose growing out of concrete. He is a product of generations and generations of mis-education and ignorance.

Um Future is my dude, that young man is going to go places. Him and I have different NT personalities though. There are certain topics I just don't play with.

I tend to be more militant with certain topics than others. Racism has a no tolerance policy on this forum, and homophobia and sexism should be the same. I'm not the one in here that started calling people sissies, and batty boys.

No insecurity here, just something I'm fairly passionate about. And no you don't have to be gay to be an LGBT supporter and a feminist. But I'll gladly accept my status as NTs own openly gay man.

I didn't stoop down to his level, my back and knees don't bend that far.

There have been a few changes on NT since I've gotten here. I mean if you made this thread years ago it would be 10 pages of people calling gays the f-word. Baby steps.


I think NT and how I carry myself around the people around me is a good start. This thread wasn't a complete lynch mob after-all, there were people who were moderate on the issue and some who supported my views. That is progress. Ninjahood is on the wrong side of progress.

The homophobia on display in this thread is repulsive and undeniable.  For crying out loud:  what someone else chooses to wear isn't going to turn you gay.  It's not a communicable disease and no one is obligated to live their lives within the confines of your limited gender roles.  

 

You can't even have this argument without insinuating that there's something "wrong" with being gay, or "feminine", for that matter (and, no, the two are not one and the same.)  If you believe that it's somehow immoral, that's your business - but as far as NikeTalk is concerned LGBT users are EVERY bit as welcome here as you are and you are NOT permitted to make derogatory comments about anyone's sexuality.  

 

 

That said, if someone does say something bigoted, that doesn't give you the right to attack them in like fashion.  Fighting prejudice with prejudice is not acceptable, and all these stereotypical "hood" comments being lobbed about are hideous in their own right.   

 

I see a ton of stereotyping on either "side" of this discussion, and I hope no one here thinks they're really being a great ally to the LGBT community by accusing people of being "closeted homosexuals."  It's just another way of using "gay" as an insult.  You guys are tossing the accusation around like five year olds saying "OH YEAH!! WELL HE WHO SMELT IT, DEALT IT!!"  What message do you think that sends?
