THE AMERICANS on FX -- Season 2 Finale: "Echo" ... Tonight at 10/9c

The guy playing the FBI agent has been in a lot of different shows...he's pretty good, I'm glad he's finally landed a big part

I love how this show isn't cute or precious.

I was worried it might just be a grittier Undercovers or Chuck, but this show is harsh and under control and not trying to be cute or funny about it. And not having Keri be the nagging wife, but the more ruthless one was a nice touch.

And that neighbor dude . He was great in that movie Little Children.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm hooked.  Great---another show I have to keep up with now.

The atmosphere is very Soprano-esque.  I like it.

This was a really great premiere. Would've been perfect with no commercials.

They didn't just set the table they gave us extra servings in 90 minutes like a loving mother making sure her son and friends are full. I mean damn.

One thing that was a stretch at first was the fbi agent transferring to DC happening to move in the same neighborhood as the Russian spies but given who this guy is (I'm talking about the actor) I can expect greatness. He's a shifty guy, so that angle can go plenty ways. Like how they backed off on him immediately catching on to him and painting it as him just being paranoid but his training and instinct had him make the right hunch regardless. Puts a balance in place where he doesn't look incompetent and they don't look like super invincible spies.

The rest I had no complaints about. They really did a good job establishing the family dynamic and how the married spies approach their family life and their spy life/duty to their country. Can already see Keri is more in charge and this dude is slight simping the way he's more in love with her than he is dedicated to the mission. I look forward to them bringing me in to the whole thought process, feelings and aim of the cold war and how individual agents like them in their situation change or don't in how they view America and stick to the goal.

I didn't expect Christian Troy and JJ Abrams' father to be such a good actor. The last 10 minutes completely sold me on this show. That garage scene :smokin The direction was so damn good. It seriously felt on par with Argo. This show came just in time for people jumping ship on Homeland.

Solid Premiere. 60 minutes in, I didn't even realize that they were giving us an extra 30 minutes with it. :pimp: :pimp:

Damn though
Having to listen to your wife blow some dude off and finger his bootyhole too.
:x :smh:

Undercover agent life sucks.

Very impressed with the premiere. A lot of shows will struggle in the early episodes finding their tone, comfort level with the characters, setting up the plots, etc., but The Americans handled it very well and there's a sense of confidence in what they're doing.

The opening was great, the FBI moving into the neighborhood, the garage fight and the husband siding with his wife, the build-up and "going to war" for the FBI, all great.

Missed the premier and the re-airing late last night. Anyone know where I can watch? Like on the FX website or something? I thought it might be On Demand but it wasn't when I checked.

when dude was hitting on his daughter at the mall..i was like man, this dude is either gonna get killed or beat up later...and sure enough  :pimp:

love the 80s music.

love keri russell.

great show.

I liked that cuz I thought it was gonna happen immediately after or shortly after and then they actually managed to make me forget all about dude and then bam fork knife to the groin

I knew they made it a point to show the dad looking at the guy's credit card and getting his full name but tracking him down and serving him in his own home, in a disguise no less  :smokin

great first episode..

they made a fan out of me.

that whole disposing of the body scene with phil collins playing in the background was great.

my dude smashed keri to phil collins tho  :pimp:

will be waiting for the drum solo next week
It was awesome . I love that song.

Keri Russell looking good .

Her being undercover and having to slob that guy and play with his butt :x :smh:. Had her KGB husband like >: >: when he was listening to the tape.
