My son just turned 7 months NT famb. Seems like yesterday when I was just in here posting about how nervous and anxious I was about becoming a dad.
Now I just wish time would stand still, or at least slow down just a bit.
Best thing that has ever happened to me.
Love coming in here and reading you guys' stories, and congrats to all the new dads.

i dunno man. so many people told me to enjoy my son when he was about 6 months old because once they start running around and talking back, your life will be much more hectic. eff that. i love having conversations with my boy. i love tackling him and playing rough. i love watching him adventure off the trails when we hike. it's way more fun. now that might change later on, but i'm having a blast right now (he just turned 3).

I was letting her get in the bed with me, but now she's 10 and I'm trying to break that habit.
The last three times she woke me up, I walked her back to bed, turned on the television. 30-45 mins later she knocked out. I usually wake back up to make sure she sleeping .
I explained to her that she doesn't have to wake me up each time, but I think she wants the comfort of knowing someone is up with her.
It's a matter breaking the habit, let them cry it out...eventually they'll get it. So I'm doing the same thing.

Stuna, just stay active with him. He will have something to bond with you regardless.
Like me, skating and going to the movies is our thing. Have dinner and talk about the movie: reviews, jokes, what we would change etc. truly my bonding time with her.

Honestly, 2 wasn't that bad for us. Yes, there were tantrums, but at least he was able to communicate most of the time. That's also when they stop the putting everything in their mouth phase, which I'm regretting going through again.
Our son is about to turn 3 and it seems like this might be worse than 2 just because he knows what freedom is and naps are A LOT shorter.
For anyone looking at a vacuum, a BobSweep is definitely worth it. We've had one for almost a week not and it's been AMAZING! With hardwood floors those things were constantly dirty and a pain to clean. Now, we just make sure anything that can be swept up is off the floor before the scheduled clean and it does the rest. No more having to worry about cleaning the floors so your little one won't pick up something they're not supposed to.

Just started taking my daughter to those mall playground things and I wish I would have started sooner. I have a late schedule of 12-9pm now so in the morning we're pretty much watching tv and laying around. I'll prob start taking her up there every morning so she can socialize with kids close to her size and age cause most of her cousins are 6+ years old. Helped her up the steps for the slide twice and she figured out how to get up them and slide by herself afterwards, I was so proud of her lol

Damn, not gonna lie... The germophobe in me would never let my kids play in a mall playground. Even reading your post makes me want to give my kids a bath right now.

I tried to expose my son to lots of germs early on to help build his immunity system. I hate germs too, but I've come to live with it knowing that I'm only hurting him if he's not being exposed to germs early on.

Conceptually I understand it, but IRL taking care of sick kids is my hell on earth. To me it's the same thing as intentionally putting them in harm's way. I just can't do it.

Cosign. You still need to practice good hygene with kids. Washing hands, cleaning up, etc. don't purposely throw dirt in their face thinking you're helping them out.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one. Always surprises me how some parents act offended if you double check that their kids are healthy before getting together during cold/flu season. Yeaaa I know I know. My main thing while I'm there is no fingers in mouth and she's been doing pretty good with it. There's typically only 4 kids max right when the mall opens so, less germs? Either way we sanitize hands when we leave

So, I came down with 100 degree fever and knocked out on the couch early last night.
Woke up around 10:30 to my wife still trying to put my daughter to bed (she goes to bed around 8-9)...So I decided to try to put her to sleep and she knocked out immediately.
Idk if it's good that she didn't want to go to bed because I wasn't putting her to sleep. Smh.
