Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

I'm good with two. Got a boy and a girl.

If I were to have a third, I would when my other two are old enough to help babysit.

My kids are 2 years old, and the other is 6 months.

Ideally I would want 3 or 4 kids. But Bay Area living is expensive. So might settle for 2 or 3 just hoping I get one of each. The wife is 2 months pregnant and so far she says that her symptoms are different than with the boy so we're hoping that it's going to be a girl.

Day care is more than my mortgage right now, and one of them isn't even going full time yet.
mannnn the first daycare my son went to was more expensive than my mortgage and that's just one kid
when his best friend's parents had another kid, they basically stole the best teacher at the school and got her to become their nanny. she watches both kids every weekday at the house and they pay her pretty much what they would pay for one kid at the daycare. they also bought her a beater car cause she didn't have transportation.

we are staying at one child for now for mostly financial reasons.

I agree. Raising kids in the Bay is tough. Mortgage and private school for 2 is no joke. Financially, we could make 3 work. But 4 would be tough. Another big reason for the procedure.....

Done, bruh. Cute Daughter, and Good luck!
Thanks man I appreciate it.

Ideally we'd like to have 3 but financially it'll probably be 2 so I'm hoping the next one is a boy and we'll be done.

I feel ya, bro. I went back to get my Bachelor's when my wife was pregnant with my daughter, and with my twins being born next month, it's gonna motivate me extra hard to start on my Master's this Jan. I'm trying to have 5 by the time I'm done

Yup heading back for my MA is the next priority. If I can make more and have my lady work less that would be ideal.

My wife and i have 2, a boy and a girl. We both agreed that two is our number for how we want to live our future out and be able to give the kids some of the things we weren't fortunate to have or experience. We talked about what IF we wanted a third one down the road, and we both kind of concluded that if we wanted another one, we could look into adoption. Also, it's much cheaper with two. Day care is more than my mortgage right now, and one of them isn't even going full time yet.

I wish day care was more than my mortgage [emoji]128514[/emoji] I'm going to have 2 kids in preschool starting next June and that won't even be half my mortgage. Plus we're expecting number 3 in March.

Bay Area checking in. SAN jose. Thank god i have people to watch my kids.

been thinking about moving back to the bay to raise the kids..cant do NY much longer..SJ might be the move as well, more than 1/2 my girls fam lives there

Not sure how it is in Hawaii, but I use to live in South San Jose before my kid was born and we were paying $1805 for a 1 bedroom.

Once we found out the wifey was pregnant, we went back to the East Bay

depends on which island and what part you live in but it can be pretty bad here. i used to rent a one bedroom for $2500 utilities not included :x it was a really nice gated community though.

we were looking to buy a two bedroom condo near where we currently live (in a studio) and it was going to be 700k. keep in mind utilities wouldn't be included and monthly maintenance fee would be about $700. we could move out of town and commute which we will probably do eventually, and get a 2 bedroom townhouse for much cheaper.

Speaking of how many kids we want...

Think my shortys preggo, been a week since she missed her pd. Im happy yet nervous...financially  Lowkey excited for my daughter to have a sibling if she is, but then again she gets mad jealous when other kids are around me and her mother so...

We shall see bros, ill let yall know whats up soon

Dad's, what did you get your one-year old for Christmas?

I'm coming up with nothing in what to get my daughter lol.

I was thinking of getting her the Fisher Price Bright Beats...But still not 100% sure.

Any suggestions?

My kids get so many presents from family that we don't even buy them Christmas gifts.  Especially not a 1 year old who has no clue what's going on.  Doubt my 5 year old will even notice once all of the gifts are open and he's busy playing with everything.  It's basically Christmas every day for my kids anyway.

See, that's how I feel too. I just wanted to get her something that she could open on Christmas morning.

She'd rather play with an empty soda bottle than some of her toys

Word.  You should have seen how excited my 2.5 year old daughter was yesterday when my mom brought her over some damn Minnie Mouse slippers.  She won't take them off her feet!  There's no toy I've ever bought her that got that kind of excitement.  Who would have guessed?!

If for a girl I suggest the play kitchen set. My daughter plays with it all the time.

Man, that's what my wife and were thinking...But I'm not sure if we should get that for her now, since she just turned one and can still be entertained by random things lol

Someone gave my daughter that for her 1st bday a couple months ago but I keep telling the wife, I'm not building anything until she finds away to put some toys of the toys she already has away. I seen how my friends daughters rooms are full of damn kitchens and castle playsets and stuff is all over their houses.

I told her to clear an area out and we're only letting out 10 accessories or I'm never building anything anymore. 3 months of this back and forth and I'm not sleeping on the couch yet and the kitchen is still in the box in the garage so it's going good for me so far

But for real, my daughter loves Paw Patrol so I'm gonna get her a bunch of the larger toys for xmas. Also just put in for my two weeks Paternity leave today so I'm feeling good :D

I was considering going with the Paw Patrol route, since she too, enjoys the show and has a little couch lol.

IDK where we'd even put the kitchen set since we don't have room.

My son (turns 2 in Jan.) loves Paw Patrol man...I whistle the damn song at work all the time

Got him a Paw Patrol book that I wasn't sure if he was going to be into, the book itself is kinda big..but he grabs the thing and walks around with it but he can't see where he's going cause it's covering his face

a new car seat, boom

her bday is two weeks later...nothing planned for that yet

Yea space is an issue with the kitchen. We got a small single unit version. Probably 2 feet wide. I can take it room to room with ease. And lol Raider. But books are good too. My daughter puts books in my hand all day to read to her. Those are cheap and take very little space.
