how long did you guys wait to take your kids to public places?

not like we're in a rush to go and be out n about but was just curious in general..

What do you mean by public places? Like just out of the house in general?

Probably right around the time my FMLA ended so yeah about 2 months.

Yup, when our daughter was born...We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas early. We didn't even want to attempt to go to the family party for the risk of her getting germs from all the people.

Being extremely cautious and home-bodies was great.

When my first daughter was born, we started taking her out to eat with us after about a week :smh:

With these twins just now, we're ready to not leave the house with them until Spring

Took my son to the mall the same week. 2 days after being discharged.

(My girl is a Pediatric nurse and her mom is a mother baby nurse) no worries here.

Yeah its hard not going out I'm public with him. I was kinda glad to get back to work last week to get out of the house. The other day my wife wanted to go to Target so we packed him up in the car...I waited in the car with him when she ran in then she did the same when I went into bestbuy. At least we got out of the house

Baby momma on that BS.

Think ima call in tomorrow and go fish early morning.

My lil one too young for that right now or else id take him.

Sometimes a dad just needs a quick lil break tho.

To each their own. We were at target and out to eat dinner on day five. And just about every day after that. Just keep people's hands and faces away from the baby.

We were fortunate enough to have a baby that made it possible though. Will probably get paid back for it on the next one

Well we had to go back to the hospital a bunch after originally being discharged so while not ideal it did help us learn we could go out.

First few months wasn't a big deal at all since they sleep so much. They get used to noises etc

Damn. I just realized now I'm also responsible for getting mom a gift from baby during the holidays. Any of you Veterans have any Xmas gift ideas for a first time mom from baby? I'm thinking pandora birthstone or something like that. I hate how cliche it is but for whatever reason they still seem to eat it up.

I didnt know this was a thing  Well i just say the gift is from the "both of us" to her.

Ditch that birthstone, go get you a nice picture frame. Get a picture of yall as a family. Simplicity is key when you're picking out gifts.

Its the thought that counts....unless wifey is hella spoiled

At children's hospital emergency with my son right now because he was crying earlier that his eye hurt and we figured he had something in it like and eyelash, dust, etc. Tried to flush it out in the shower and gave him enough relief to fall asleep, but he woke crying and won't open it so here we are to figure out if there's something in there, if he scratched it, or what. He's 5 and I'd hope he could tell me better what happened but I'm at a loss and hope the docs can assist. Not swollen or bleeding, so hoping it's just an irritation.

Hoping everything checks out okay and it isn't anything serious...
