Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

My daughter started that fall/lay down "tantrum" stuff after she learned to walk. At first she would casually lay down making sure she didn't hurt herself then she started to get brave and would baseball slide at will. She's not doing it anymore thank God.

Youngest girl is 8 months now and I'm about to start planning her first birthday party which will be basically a few decorations and a barbecue. She was born on Cinco de Mayo so as much as I want to have tacos and drink tequila I also don't want things to be that kind of stereotypical and kinda offensive.

Anybody else's kids watch Puffin Rock? think I asked before but couldn't remember if my girls were the only ones
Man go ahead and party. Tacos and tequila is always a great mix.

Right now my daughter is a nightmare at night. She does this crying like she's getting hurt but yet no tears are coming out but once she gets what she wants she'll stop. She's constantly trying to touch anything with light such as our phones, Xbox controller, tv remote but yet when I give her her own light up toy she keeps it for a few minutes and we re back to step one. We feed her too but the full belly deal isn't working now.

my good luck charm as been coming thru on the playoffs for me

My son started walking a month ago and will not leave me alone. I cant do anything without him being my shadow lol.

Cant wait till we get to be hands on under the hood.

my girl is 8 months and change and doesn't crawl yet. Should I be worried? She's a bit on the heavy side though. :nerd:

Got my wife to finally to consign making a valiant effort to get our little one to soothe herself to sleep

She cried hard for awhile and it doesn't help that she's at a point where she now stands and walks

She eventually sat down and was nodding off while holding the railing...fell asleep like this

Woke up once around 1AM and my wife was able to comfort her back to sleep

Didn't realize it until the morning but she vomited outside the crib when she was wailing last night

It actually went a lot better than we expected

Same exact situation with my 8 month old son

might be a blessing in disguise tbh. Once they start crawling, you gotta catch em like pokemon all day lol

Word. Cherish them while they're still "stuck" to wherever you put them down at. Once they go mobile, it's game over.

I agree! Once they're mobile, it IS over...
Your forever chasing them. (Or really just making sure they don't run into anything, get hurt, or break something.)

But when your out in public and some do that whole leash/tether thing?? I just don't get it?? The wife and I just look at eachother with a :smh:.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. I've heard of babies who don't even crawl and just start walking. You can try putting her favorite toy in front of her just far enough that she can't grab it and see if she will reach for it. I say just enjoy the days with your daughter cause time FLYS

Yea, don't worry about crawlin' they'll start when they want to. My 8 month old is all over everything crawling and following me around. She gon be walkin' soon cause she startin to pull up and let go and stand by herself. I'm ready to have 2 walkin' babies in my house so I can stop carrying that heavy rascal lol

Daughter is exactly a year and a half and she's becoming a little monster

Is this when the "Terrible Two's" that people talk about start happening?

She does this thing where she just lays down now whenever I "yell" at her

And she climbs in everything. We were putting away the Xmas stuff yesterday and after coming back in from throwing away the tree, I walk into this

Been there too. We now know when he's so worked up there's no turning back cry so we only intervene at that point.

My daughter has teeth now lol. Is it time to start brushing them?

I've been brushing my kids teeth before there was even teeth.

To answer your question. Yes. Get an infant toothbrush, it's made of silicone. You don't need toothpaste yet. But you can use water that has fluoride in it.

whens a good time to start that? even with no teeth

Yeah get a thin wash cloth wet it and start scrubbing their gums with your finger in the wash cloth.
Yeah, we've been doing this since she was a newborn.

It's crazy, her two bottom front teeth are out, and her two top front left teeth are out, but the right front tooth is just coming out

so like asap? even as a new born just to keep their gums clean?

Yup. Scrub in the morning after the first feeding scrub during baths scrub before bed.

I got two kids 2 years apart. We are creating habits for the kids so they know to brush their damb teeth.

But yeah you should always keep their mouths clean. They put things in their mouths that have dust and lint all over it. Like the pacifiers and their hands.

my wife is a dental hygienist so my kids better not get cavities :D

the toddlers teeth are brushed nightly...the baby a few times a week? my wife does it

keep telling my toddler she's going to be doing it twice daily but there's so much for me to do in the morning when i take them to daycare that i don't think about it
