Official NT dad thread: can the dads get love

Took my daughter with me to Best Buy the other day. Passed by the TV section to watch the end of the packers/boys game and it blew her mind that the same person could be on multiple TVs. She kept looking back and forth between TVs and looking at me with that expression of "are you watching this? I can't be the only one seeing this" definitely something I'll never forget.

I've been brushing my kids teeth before there was even teeth.

To answer your question. Yes. Get an infant toothbrush, it's made of silicone. You don't need toothpaste yet. But you can use water that has fluoride in it.
whens a good time to start that? even with no teeth

My little girl has all her teeth except molars. My wife only started brushing them in the summer, but she's starting to learn how to brush. Or whatever the hell it is she's doing. She knows she about to go to bed after she's done though, so she does everything she can to stall

I agree! Once they're mobile, it IS over...
Your forever chasing them. (Or really just making sure they don't run into anything, get hurt, or break something.)

But when your out in public and some do that whole leash/tether thing?? I just don't get it?? The wife and I just look at eachother with a :smh:.

My mom had me leashed, but that was because I have a twin brother. I can understand with having two kids running in opposite directions and it's just her, but if you have ONE kid running around, just put your phone down and pay attention!

Got a 4 year old and a 3 month old . Both girls ...

Any advice on raising girls ?

Always thought I would have boys haha

if my son doesn't get into one of the private schools we are going to test him for, i'm going to claim that i live at my mom's house and send him to school out in the suburbs and probably move out to that side of the island. the public schools in my neighborhood are horrible.

i'm obsessed right now with getting my son into private school. both my girls did great in public but my son i want nothing but private. I've become THAT dad

my youngest daughter turns 18 sunday, my oldest 20 this year. half of you on here are still younger

no pics

Still waiting on my advice on my girls haha

dude i think i can answer ANY question at this point on girls, ANYTHING

u need advice regarding ? or are they just young and u don't know what to expect ?

what gender kids do you have ?

I hear girls are a lot easier when they are young and become hard during the teenager years.. And the opposite with boys ....

How do y'all cope with time management I seem to always be late and I always feel like I never have anytime to myself anymore... Is it just me as a person that likes to have free time a few times in the day to do whatever ?

My parents told this to me and my brother:

"When you have a son, you worry about one penis. When you have a daughter, you worry about everyone's penises."

2 girls, 1 boy , 20/18/12

girls for me were easy cause they're "daddy's girls", pains in the a*s sometimes but theres nothing better if you treat em right like any other woman. me personally I've treated my girls not like some army general cause those are the ones who always end up doing the dumbest sh*t first to "break free". treat em cool, make em always feel comfortable to be able to talk to u about anything and you'll never have nothing to worry about em because they'll always be worried about disappointing you more than pissing you off. trust it works, my daughters can't even twerk

my son is weird cause I grew up without a dad so I'm going through this spoiling him with anything he wants phase. that I need to chill with and start letting him learn his way or else I'm gonna end up with some jobless clown on my couch playing black ops and drinking 2 liters every hour :smh:

as far as time, i worked alot when they were little but all that did was make me being there more of a moment for them that they enjoyed and respected my prescence when I was there. that whole "daddy's coming home soon" works wonders when you ain't been there all day.

you'll always find time for yourself, that's never a problem but you'll never get this time when they're little back so enjoy it all bro. every dirty face, every daddy I missed you, every first anything, enjoy it. my girls are women now, really buggs me out seeing them like this but I always remember the lil things. soak it all up fam :smokin

I hate to scar this beautiful thread I have taken part in myself but I want to post this as a reminder to all my NT brethren to make sure you PROPERLY INVESTIGATE and sit down and INTEROGATE who your child's mom moves on to if things don't work out and you end up co-parenting.

For 2 weeks now I have been dealing with the horrible fact that my daughters moms babyfather murdered my 1.5 year old daughter. She was on life support for 3 days and we decided to take her off after the declaration of brain death. We decided to donate her organs to other children and she saved lives. It's unreal even typing this right now but all I have is vegence in my heart about this whole situation.

I was an extremely active father in my child's life, despite the fact her mother lived in Dallas and I in NYC. She moved on extremely quick and had a child with this 19 year old kid before my child could even reach 6 months. I made sure I traveled to Dallas 4 times last year and she even let me take my daughter for a good part of the summer. This kid sat down an BBQ'd with me for my child's birthday and showed no reason I couldn't trust him around my kid. Every time I met him he seemed like a quite soft kid just stuck in my ex's whirlwind of BS.

I say don't ever trust anyone around your kid that's not you in my eyes. If your co-parenting literally sit down with the new dude and put the fear in him to never touch the mom or your child. I couldn't trust her mother to tell me she had been leaving my child with this guy to go out of state along with her 2 other children. She wasn't there during the murder but I begged her to get a baby sitter if she ever left the house. Screwed up part in all this is the kid has my last name and there is 0 relation.

Pray for my family NT brethren. I am going to be setting up a fund at a child abuse prevention/awareness charity where people can donate to her name.

He is facing capital murder in Texas however I don't want him to get the death penalty. He shouldn't get to go out easy and calm after violently throwing my daughter and leaving her in her crib unresponsive for 6 hours before calling the cops. Not to mention picking up the phone for me 2 times and lying to me calmly telling me she had a seizure from a fever and that she will be fine. He needs to spend 60 years in gen pop. Not 10 years in isolation on death row until he gets to go to sleep peacefully F that.

my girl is 8 months and change and doesn't crawl yet. Should I be worried? She's a bit on the heavy side though. :nerd:

Same exact situation with my 8 month old son

Do you guys do alot of tummy time? I put my daughter on her stomach every chance i got and she was crawling at 6 months. We also helped her by putting a blanket under her stomach and holding up both sides of the blanket so her stomach would be off the ground.

Do y'all send your kids to public or private school ?

We want to send my daughter to the same private HS my wife went to but its madd money so that probly wont happen

Still waiting on my advice on my girls haha

My daughters only a year old so i havent gotten to that point yet. But i believe that its on me and her mother to show her what a healthy relationship looks like. Me as the father especially as shes going to see how I treat her mother, and that will become the norm for her
