they start it at 8:56am which is incredible because the real life change

in tone was crazy to watch

The O&A show from that day used to be on youtube until the Sirius lawyers purged everything last week.

They took a lot of calls and it was a lot more depressing than the Stern show.

They're both terribly somber though.

 after obamas re-election

They do these retrospective look backs of how they were so sad and somber, but when they show the coverage from the actual day, they're sitting there cracking jokes well after the initial crash.  Screw them.

If you're talking about Opie and Anthony, I agree. It bugged me at the time.

Gave me the chills when Stern initially realizes what happens and how he says "we're under attack, we're going to war". Cause it came outa no where but you know instantly how serious the situation is.

With the amount of bombs obtained on this planet along with how powerful they are I always wonder if there's going to be a random day like 9/11 where a nuclear war will pop off. I've had dreams where I hear a boom and see a mushroom cloud in the distance and I say to myself in the same exact tone as Stern, "welp this is it, someone decided to push the button" which is why it gave me the chills when he said that.

Thanks for posting.

I know I'll get upset, but there's something compelling about reliving those initial reactions, the changes in mood/demeanor etc. in real time.

Listened to this yesterday. The racism callers were spewing, wow.

Dudes calling in urging people to attack "towelheads" at random. :smh:

Talking about "wipe the middle east off the map. F women and babies" :smh:

I was listening to this that morning.

Listening now makes me ill.

I was freaking since my GF (now wife) was in that area.

Wouldn't necessarily call those underlined statements "racist." Agree with the cism throughout the broadcast though. Urging people to attack "dotheads" and "towelheads" :smh:

I actually heard some of this the day of the attack on my way to college. Still brings back memories of that day and I live on the west coast.

And one thing you guys have to understand is Howard's fans that actually call into the show aren't the smartest people in history. Plus most of the guys calling are/were the regular callers and they are pretty dumb but bring character to the show. You have to remember this si radio after all and if things were politically correct, it wouldn't be a Howard Stern Show. Just don't take that stuff to heart. One of the most loyal fans of Howard (Bobo) that calls everyday has an 87 IQ and wears a horrible hair piece.

Should they have said those things? No. But i don't have a problem with them being irrational when you're country is under attack and you know exactly who it is. We've all said things we dont mean in the heat of the moment about something far less serious as what happened on 9/11. Even when the lady called saying she didnt take a cab because people were banging on the cab windows yelling and shouting at the driver cause he was arab Stern said thats just wrong we cant be doing that.

Bro, someone called in and expressed his anger with the "dotheads" though.

Straight ignorance.

I hate when videos are posted and I'm at work and can't watch them. I'll watch this later.

I feel the same way

that one day we gonna wake up and hear bombs goin off with mushroom clouds or jets flying over dropping bombs or chemicals like the Pearl Harbor but a modern version

9/11 just seemed like the spark to show other terrorist if you plan and really take time even the almighty America can be attacked
