that one day we gonna wake up and hear bombs goin off with mushroom clouds or jets flying over dropping bombs or chemicals like the Pearl Harbor but a modern version

  yea and that if you do we'll go ham on your *** and occupy your country for a decade plus until all your military leaders are dead or in custody

but the fear and horror would already be done and they wanna add chaos to the world so they win

They do these retrospective look backs of how they were so sad and somber, but when they show the coverage from the actual day, they're sitting there cracking jokes well after the initial crash.  Screw them.

To be honest, we made jokes while at school about the attacks, but we didn't know the severity of the situation. At all. (Plus we were in middle school).

But it wasn't until everyone got home and actually saw the smoke from Jersey and the footage to really understand how serious this was.

EDIT:

God Robin is annoying.

Robin really was extremely annoying.

The whole thing was definitely captivating though.. like everyone else that day/week/month.. I was glued to the TV looking for any answers.

The most interesting thing to see IMO was how open people were about their views of other cultures when they're scared.

Towelheads? Word? You really hear the fear in his voice. Dude was so scared that he'd probably nuke Eurasia to calm his nerves. Wow. :smh:

And I wanna reiterate how annoying Robin is.

"We have to blow up everyone."

Robin has her moments. Sometimes she agrees with Howard and sometimes she fights her side. All those guys guys on the show can be annoying at times but that is just the dynamic of the show. For the most part you have to remember some of it is an act they put on for radio. The number one thing people think when they hear Howard Stern is how much of a perv he is when really he's a mellow guy and would rather just stay at home all day then actually going to strip clubs.

I still love this after all thes years. Wish Robin wasn't such a prude at times.

I remember sooooooo many people cracking jokes until they realized when they got home or came to work the next day how serious it was

I bet the show after they wasnt cracking jokes

I remember listening to the show on Live 105 during my drive my way to my university... the mood was so very, very grim.

i got to googling while watching it yesterday and didnt know she's 60

^ Yea, they old man . I skimmed through the video and just listening to reactions as it's happening. I welled up a bit. I still remember that day, I was on my way to school when I heard everything got shut down. Went back inside and saw all the craziness.I thought it was a regular accident...until the second plane hit. **** had just gotten real.

Clearly they didn't know the full extent of what happened....

THIS IS SO CRAZY.

I actually learned that 9/11 happened because I used to wake up to the Howard Stern show in the morning. I remember everyone being hella confused about what even happened and then the second plane hit.

Watching now

Damn...didnt plan on it, but just watched the whole thing. >: :frown: :smh: |I

Something like this did a better job in my opinion of explaining the times and mentalities that led to the choices we ended up making than Zero Dark Thirty did.

Posting for later. Can't listen today though. Would be a buzz kill on Super Bowl Sunday.

What I totally forgot about was the footage of the other countries celebrating the attacks.
