Chris Douglas - Roberts "I Am Not a Star" EPISODE 6 MELO PRO WEEK

Detroit Legend my mans Chris Doug, pissed the Lakers cut him, him being under Kobe's wing would have been great for his career

My hope is that the Lakers open up a few roster spaces this offseason, and give him one... AGAIN :rolleyes but actually holds onto him.

Probably would have been on the roster had Ebanks not had a guaranteed contract.

Yeah ^ ebanks got that guarateed contract he had no chance, wish we wouldve picke cdr over ebanks tho. I thought he was in dallas tho?

Damn he was so fun to watch in college. As Thundercat said, its crazy how some just dont say in the league when you see how talented they are in college. Hope his hard work pays off and he gets another shot.

Some guys game just doesn't translate to the NBA level sometimes. Plus alot of times guys don't for issues beyond the court. Looking at you Eddie Griffin :smh:

From Wiki:

On October 1, 2012, Douglas-Roberts signed a training camp deal with the Los Angeles Lakers for an undisclosed wage.[4] He was waived by the Lakers on October 22.[5] On October 27, 2012, Douglas-Roberts was signed by the Dallas Mavericks along with center Melvin Ely.[6] He and Ely were waived the next day. The two then joined the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League.[7]
He was re-signed by the Dallas Mavericks on December 23, 2012.[8] On January 6, 2013, he was waived by the Mavericks.[9][10]

I hope he makes it back in the L. He was my go to guy off the bench in 2K. :pimp:

Damn didn't know dude was killing cats like that in the D-League or was it that he was just playing for himself by that i mean driving/shooting every time he had the ball

Im Legit a fan of a series like this, I loved Under the Armour but it was a shame how they basically abandoned the series in the second season

This looks promising keep us updated on the videos bro

he was dang near 50/40/90 in the D league while averaging 22ppg.

all the support is appreciated. we (i guess you can call us team CDR) are looking to have new episodes every 2 weeks

Episode 1 :nthat:

Dude could def average double digits in the NBA. Squads are sleeping

Really enjoyed watching that. Him and Rose were my favorite duo in cball ever. Wore 23 cuz of Rose for my varsity squad my soph year and 14 cuz of CDR during AAU.

Crazy how time flys man...I nearly cried when Chalmers hit that bucket in the NCAA championship game haha

Yo OP, does he ever bring up Rose? Like his success, both guys different career paths, etc?

he says he communicates with rose a lot. he's good for a story or two about their college days. mostly though, CDR respects Rose's work ethic and says he's had the drive since day one.

a brief story of a story he told us once:

clearly everyone was frustrated with losing the NCAA title game and whatnot, but dudes knew they were leaving memphis. dudes were talking that "let's come back" talk for about a week but after that it was time to get ready for the draft (rose and CDR.) but after 2 weeks Rose was still pissed they had lost the game. he was dead set on returning to school even though dude was the projected #1 pick. coach cal called him into his office and ripped up Rose's scholarship in front of him and told him he had to go plus "i already got tyreke on his way."

Damn thats crazy...i give props to Coach Cal for that.

Good looks on that. Crazy to imagine if he had actually gone back to school...history would have been forever changed. Bulls would've drafted Beas, etc...

i love watching a dedicated athlete train. makes me want to get into the gym

Damn, I kinda don't like Cal for that
