Only reason the dog survived is because he was thought to be gay.

If the dog was given up just cause the owner didn't want him any more, the dog would be landfill right now.

No the word has a definition, it doesn't only literally mean you are afraid of getting raped by gays. It means you also fear their influence on your own sexuality or in society, or you fear how they expose your own insecurities about your own sexuality. A lot of -isms are grounded in FEAR.


Eg. many prejudices are a result of XENO-phobia.
