Whats Up NTFAM

I've recently been scammed over a pair of shoes and I'm calling all NT detectives for suggestions/advice as to what my options are at this point. Basically, I bought a pair of shoes. The seller sent me the wrong size shoes so I ask for an exchange. I send the shoes back and now the seller has the shoes and my money. Seller has since ignored my messages and attempts to contact them. Ebay member ID is Reimer415. DO NOT DEAL WITH HIM/HER

Here is a timeline of events

11/19- Paid invoice of $290 USD for pair of New Balance Salmon Soles

11/21- Shoes arrive, however the shoes inside are half a size too big. Seller apologizes, offers exchange or refund. I ship shoes back for an exchange

12/05- Seller says the other pair that he needs to exchange with mines was sold to another buyer and he needs to wait for the other buyer to receive their shoes and confirm the size before he can make the exchange. He also notes that he is out of town until the 16th, but he will ask his housemate to check the shoes

12/10- I decide I don't need the shoes anymore and ask for a refund, but seller won't give me the refund and now claims that I may have switched the shoe myself because the sizes matched the boxes when he purchased them from the store. So he has to wait for the other buyer who supposedly has my size to receive his pair and confirm the size on his shoe is the one that I was supposed to receive.

12/19-
reimer415:
"I been talking to the post office custom held the package my other customer didn't receive the shoes yet I'm very sorry for the delay"
12/20- I ask seller to just send me the shoes back even though they're the wrong size. I'll just resell them myself if I have to.

reimer415:
"No I'm not keeping your money as I said I'm just waiting to conform. I can give you back the shoes to hold till my other customer can conform then I can can just give you cash instead but as I said its up to you if you want to wait or sell the shoe it's all up too you thanks for understanding and sorry for the trouble"
That was the last message I ever got from the seller. He has ignored all my messages since. I have contacted paypal, who wouldn't do anything. Ebay was only able to send them an email to remind them to send my shoes back. I then filed a claim with my bank and they couldn't do anything either. They sent me a letter saying the claim was denied and that I'd have to deal with the merchant, in this case, paypal. Didn't even bother to contact me for the evidence that I had to use in their decision making process smh. I should mention that we both live in SF and the only other thing I can think of at this point is to pay em a visit, but I was hoping to avoid anything illegal or anything that might provoke unnecessary repercussions as we are relatively close by to each other.

So what I do have is the seller's ebay name, paypal email, address, facebook page, and our entire conversation throughout this ordeal archived in my ebay messages folder and a copy of the usps tracking slip which proves that I shipped the shoes back to them.. What do I do? Any help is greatly appreciated!

There's an NTer that posts in the nike forum with a very similar SN. I think he has a baseball related avy.

Anyway, you guys are in the same city so I'd just go pay him a visit. You don't have to do anything stupid, but meeting up in real life will fix a lot of things. Especially since the guy appears to have two you children.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know their exact SN? I wasn't able to find it.
The reason for this thread was to spread awareness to anyone who might be or is thinking about dealing with this fraud and also to explore my possibilities. So, before I go knocking on the door, I just wanted to be sure of my options, this being the first time I've been scammed by a supposed NTer.

If the actually paid via the paypal invoice he didn't gift it

Something is off about this story. If you file a claim through Paypal and provide tracking with a signature that shows the shoes were delivered back to the seller you would get your money back...

this.

shouldn't be getting scammed thru ebay or paypal. almost impossible especially for shoes

Paypal told me they couldn't since it was beyond 45 days. The reason it took that long, was because the seller kept stalling. First it was sorry my cousin may have switched the two identical shoes when he took pictures, send em back and ill exchange them. Then its i'm waiting for another buyer to get their shoe(the size I was originally supposed to receive) before I can exchange the right size. Then it was sorry, the shoes are stuck in customs and the other guy still hasn't received the shoes yet so I can't exchange. Then I ask for my refund and he refuses and accuses me of switching his shoe with a shoe of my own and he has to wait for the other guy to confirm his pair so that he knows that it was indeed his mistake and I didn't try to pull one over on him. Eventually I ask him to at least send me the wrong size shoe back to hold because him having the shoes and my money aint right, but they didn't do that either.

Sorry if this is a bit hard to follow, I can post the actual convo if it helps, but I wish I had realized what was going on earlier

I filed a claim with wells fargo. They sent me a letter saying I gotta deal with the merchant. They have "rules and regulations" preventing them from reversing it. I called in and tried to appeal it seeing as how they never even contacted paypal or bothered to check out the evidence I had, but the person on the phone wouldn't do anything

wait...why would eBay send a message reminding him to send the shoes back if the transaction wasn't even done through eBay? I know for a fact that they frown upon people buying eBay items not on eBay and only through PayPal invoices, because then they can't collect on the eBay fees. I don't feel like they'd even care enough about you to message the seller telling him to send the shoes back if the transaction was not done on eBay.

I called in to explain my situation and to see if there was anything they could do on their end. The item was originally listed on ebay. I told them the only reason I did it was that the seller convinced me to buy it through paypal because he offered me a discount on the shoes. The only thing they could do was report the buyer (not sure what that even does) and send an email to the seller reminding them to return my shoes, with no guarantee that they would actually follow through

dude lives in your city you have the address and you wait for almost 4 months for some damn shoes?

you should've paid em a visit a long time ago...

If you're not trying to go to the house yourself then just call the cops and tell them they stole your shoes.  Since you paid for them, they're yours...

assuming you were born in 87 (from your username), i'd say you should make an adult move talk to him on saturday since he lives in your area. don't try to have NT do your dirty work if you're 25 and down the street from the seller.

Oldest trick in the book. You asked for an exchange instead of a refund and he knew the 45 day rule so he kept feeding you those BS stories.

You always insist on a refund first, then if he comes up with some story about how he can't refund you then you immediately file a claim.

Ok so after visiting several times I finally came by when someone was actually home. However the visit was not a fruitful endeavor.

So when I came by, there was a pickup truck moving things out of the garage. After they left, I talked to the lady who was in the garage. She didn't know anything, pointed me to the smaller room next to the garage.
So I wait there a few minutes. They probably rent the place out underneath the house.
As I'm waiting for Camilla to come out, a white SUV pulls up to the driveway.
Dude comes out and is in my face from the jump.
I ask for Camilla. He says thats his wife.
When I tell him I'm looking for Reimer415 he says yea that's him.
Anyways, long story short, dude was real confrontational. He claimed I didn't have evidence.
Upon learning I had tracking confirmation that proves he accepted the shoes at that address, he feeds me some bull **** he never got the shoes because the lady living upstairs supposedly steals all his mail.
Tells me to just leave before **** gets worse.
At this point I can tell that hes not really looking to see any evidence anyway and pushing the matter further would've only resulted in some one getting there **** ****** and there house ****** so I cut out.

I'm undecided on whether this is even worth taking to small claims court. I've never done that either and don't know the ins and outs of it, but I imagine it would be very time consuming. At this point I really don't give a **** about the money. Its 290 for the shoes plus 10 that I paid for in return shipping. If I get 300 in my paypal as a result of NT's help, yall can have it. I'll split it evenly and send it to everyone who significantly contributed to getting it back. If not, then whatever. Its just money. Lesson learned.

Go back there with like 5 of your friends and he'll sing a different tune. Ima Sabatoge all his eBay auctions tonight as well for you
