I am aware of the prenatal and postnatal transmission of the virus
i wont let it slide. Type 1 and 2 are not .. are not .... inherited though genetic material (dna)
only the type 6 virus is capable of genetically engeneering its code into the zygote dna (or by infecting sperm cells of the parents)
About inheritance and genetics:
Inheritance of Congenital herpes simplex refers to whether the condition is inherited from your parents or "runs" in families. The level of inheritance of a condition depends on how important genetics are to the disease. Strongly genetic diseases are usually inherited, partially genetic diseases are sometimes inherited, and non-genetic diseases are not inherited.
cold sore (type 1) and genital lesions (type 2) --> infectious diseases --> non genetic diseases --> are not inherited (the word i used in my original post
