Jamaican here. I was not offended in the slightest and neither were my brothers and parents.

Aside from movie previews that I wanted to see, only Ads I enjoyed were the Joe Montana Tide one, and the Leon Sandcastle one.
 
The Dodge commercial hushed the entire room where I was watching the game and had everyone quiet and watching. It was effective.

Disregarding the fact that there are Jamaicans of European and Asian descent, I don't see how categorizing a group of people as happy, optimistic, and relaxed could be deemed offensive.
 
Thought the Blackberry 10 commercial was brilliant. By not showing you what the phone does, it gets you to actually look up what it does.

So if the stereotype were that, say, a group of people are good at math and martial arts, that can't be offensive?  Make the same commercial with a math tutor product for students and give them Charlie Chan voices.  Offensive yet? 

Just because the stereotype is "positive" doesn't mean that it can't also be demeaning.  

All stereotypes are reductive in some way, but some of these "positive" stereotypes also connote submissiveness and docility, and strip away anything that isn't consonant with entertainment and servitude, e.g. Matt Lauer's happy memories of "island time."  What you're left with isn't a complete, independent person - but a novel, nonthreatening enabler whose primary utility, in this case, is to help you "relax."

Expand that from one character to an entire nationality.  

If it doesn't bother you, that's your opinion - but that doesn't mean that any and all complaints about the ad are invalid.  It just means that they don't bother you.

Reminded me of William Munny's commercial from last year. It was my favorite commercial, besides the "Where do babies come from?"

EDIT: Did they show ******* in one of those commercials or was I just trippin?
