Gucci has two major label albums that have sold fairly well especially considering the rapper he is

and a slew of mixtapes with some exceptional trap production.

I figured off his albums and the revenue he gets from Flocka that he's amassed some kind of wealth..or at least I'd hope considering i'm a fan of dudes work and consistency.

If he just stopped putting out music I think that he would have a decent legacy within the trap genre.

I think the film is a great look.

Glad to see how far he's come.

I don't think Gucci wants to be commercially successful. He doesn't need the money and I don't think he wants to deal with a label. If you look at it, he's prolly pullin $40k a show. You do 3-4 shows a week your looking at over half a million a month. Plus he's eating off his bricksquad label. One of the things I like/respect the most about Gucci is he's been one of the most consistent rappers of the last 5-10 years. He drops at least 1-2 mixtapes a year, he hasn't changed or tried to go commercial which is where a lot of rappers fail and I think he's actually gotten BETTER as a rapper. That being said Trap God was OK. Trap Back >> Trap God. But I'm looking forward to this. Gotti better hurry and announce CM8 laugh.gif

Hype for this.

The first one was like 5 songs too long. The first half was trash save the intro and headshots. From shooter on to the end it was pimp.gif

Also I dont think he wants to try to tap into the mainstream anymore. His goal is to get his money and he knows that his lane is where its at.

Gucci had a GREAT 2012 in my opinion. Trap God was cool, but "I'm Up" is still one of my favorite mixtapes from him. I think I like it more than "The Movie". Just too many bangers on there man.

Looking forward to this though. "Don't Trust" with Young Scooter was a slapper. "Baby Wipes" went hard too.

It costs about 30k to book Chief Keef . . . someone I know tried to book him so . . .

 

And I think Gucci is comfortable where he is . . . doing shows . . . dropping mixtapes twice a year . . . an album every now and then . . . he knows his lane and stays in it

 

Hope Lex is all over this. Lex's new production on that Currensy tape and the new Waka joint >>>, plus he killed the Intro on the first Trap God

 

Perfect springtime music, please don't come in here talking about lyrics

 

Hell TG1 is STILL getting burn, although some of it is repetitive . . . but that intro gets me hype every single time.

Gucci doesn't wanna be signed on major label.

He has some kinda distribution deal with WB, but that's really about it. Considering the money he makes in the south alone, I'd say he's good.
