thanks that seemed to work.

Im really kinda upset about Installous being gone for good. I've been trying to get TweetBot for the $free.99 but none of the Installous alternatives are working right smh
 
What do I do if I updated OTA?? Do I need to restore through iTunes before I try to jailbreak?

Your better of doing a clean restore through itunes. It would benefit you in the future. But if your not really into jailbreaking and just wan to try it out, you can get by with doing the OTA update. But remember if you install something and have to restore your phone after apple stops signing 6.1 firmwares youll will be SOL.
 
First time jailbreaking for me....How do I use what I actually downloaded. Not sure what I'm doing wrong to get the downloads to apply.

What downloads are you talking about? The actual jailbreak? Or the Apps downloaded from Cydia? Cydia has everything to get you started.

elaborate on the signing 6.1 firmwares. What does that actually mean?

I did OTA update to 6.1 and jailbroke last night. Should i clean restore through itunes and re jailbreak?

The Apps downloaded from Cydia. I downloaded some new keyboard themes and etc, but I don't know how to actually apply it. My keyboard is still the default one without any changes.

And to those trying to say its worthless....you have obviously never done it before. I rarely used installous. But Quick Reply Texts...is a MUST own. SBSSettings...MUST own. Free Tethering....MUST own. I can use my wifi ipad anywhere as long as i have my phone just turn on MyWi and free internet. More icons on a screen thank god.....i can now have phone, text, email, internet and music on my bottom bar.


Those four things alone are worth it to me.

But even the little things. There is a gif reader tweak that lets you save gifs off the internet into your photo library and you can view them in the library and they will move. Unlike now where they save as a photo. The keyboard tweak that lets you slide your finger from A-L and it moves the curser making it easy to edit text instead of using that dumb microscope.

Jailbreaking your phone literally makes iOS the best operating software out there to me. If it didn't exist i would be off iphone by now.

I know what my gifs do and you can usually view them once you send them. I'm the only notorious gif sender out of all my friends. NT created a monster. Hey a pic is worth 1k words a gif is worth how many?

All these benefits are pointless. However the tethering has me very interested. How does it work?

Download Winterboard. It lets you apply themes

When apple stops signing 6.1, you will no longer be able to restore to 6.1 since apple moved on to the their latest version. That is why it is best to save a copy of your current shsh blobs in order to have a backup in the future when you need to restore your iPhone. Here is a good article on how to do just that:

How do I dl it for free?
It shows up in a blue font.

good looking out. i don't think i will be upgrading to 6.2 when it comes out but ill save the shsh blobs soon
 
When i go to plug in my phone and click on Evasion, it wont recognize my phone.

Like iTunes reads that my phone is plugged in and my laptop does as well because its charging, but the jailbreak button wont activate on the Evasion app so that I can start the process

What gives?

their are two ways to theme the keyboard. One is with winterboard, the other requires Color Keyboard (found in cydia).

try to redownload evasi0n and unplug the phone from the computer. Run evasi0n first and them plug in the phone once evasi0n is running. If that doesnt work, try to respring or reboot the phone.
