You should still be able to, but you WILL NOT be able to restore and rejailbreak after apple stops signing the 6.1 firnware. You NEED to go through iTunes. It has something to with the OTA update only updates the changes of the software and messes up the ability to restore.

another question, ever since the update/restore, i keep getting a bunch of random "Apple ID logins" with addresses i don't even recognize in them. any way i can stop this?

What are the benefits to jailbreaking an iPad or iPhone, aside from customization and free apps?

I would love to mirror HBOGo and Amazon Prime with Apple TV, eyes.gif

Any jailbreak that would make that functional.

I've been trying to add some of these and I've been getting errors like it doesn't exist or it just fails. These are still up right? I'm just guessing its cause of the high traffic right now, if it is I guess I'll just try later.

It is version 1.4-1 I tried to attach the deb but NT doesnt allow it

check if you still can cydia or get a program called tinyumbrella it will show all the available backup/restores that are hard saved on either your phone/cpu/or the cydia servers....if you dont have any your pretty much screwed and will 1. be stuck with upgrading 2. not having the option of staying on a ios in a case of a new ios comes out without losing jb and having to update to new ios and waiting for new jb. 3. you cant downgrade and re restore jailbreak if you run into problems.

 

But what you can do for now is jailbreak to the latest ios..and after that make sure you save all your shsh blobs on cydia and stitch them into the latest ios you jb with so at least you can always return to this current ios and be able to use apple servers aka itunes without any hangups.

 

Also i would find a program like ifile diskaid xlisoft or similiar to do you backups and keep copies on your cpu.

I don't have a smart tv w/wifi capabilities, the only way to stream is with the assistance of apple TV or the PS3. Even then, school me broski. I've tried tons of things, luckily DirecTV's On Demand is a beast so I'm not hurting for content when it comes to TV shows. Still would like to stream HD movies from Amazon Prime.
