Nike Free Trainer 5.0 TB (3/28/13)

Finally came up on eastbay and came up as backordered, shipping next week haha.

I ordered more there for the 10% credit card reward, and might end up canceling my champs order.  Looks like an easy pick-up all around, still available to add to cart on Champs.
 
Bananas in person. Pics do these NO justice. Might have to cop after work. The way the gold pops when the light hits it :x :x :x
 
Dang I was about to cancel my champs order, but my order status says backordered until tomorrow.  Makes me want to hold off and see what happens.

Some weird things with this release.  Early pop up for some on NDC, then the late release on Champs and the even later release on eastbay.
 
Kind of seems these PIFs are just hyped up.  Both eastbay and champs have pretty much FSR.  The look OK in real pics but just kind of meh about them.

They are hyped, but these are fly. I want these, but I need a spring jacket more :lol: .
 
Honestly..

I wouldn't sleep on these.

This shoe in person is something it haven't ever seen before.

Rem champs and eastbay is KNOWN to cancel back orders.




Anyways, wore them to the gym and figured I would give a review on them since no one has yet.

In comparison to the first generation trainer 5.0 frees the new ones beat the old ones in terms of performance IMO.

Lateral movement is nice and tight to the ground, no shifting or rolling.

The shoe is much tighter around the mid foot than the first gen, but loosings up from wear (this May also have to do with the special upper this shoe has).

The tongue on the 2nd gen I most certainly prefer over the first gen.

Didn't have a chance to powerclean in them today, but judging from the latter drills I performed they will be just fine!

All in all the shoe is a performance beast that I can truly appreciate.

Athletically speaking, this particular model (paid in full) > ANY of the first gen.

Just wait for it, this model has some tricks up it's sleeve I have a feeling.

Oh, and btw I heard the finger trap 180 trainers will be the college collab series.
 
Copped on Champs, only saw the free shipping code after I put in my order...

Do they reverse the charge if I try calling them?

And I hope they dont run small. All my lunars are 10 so I hope these fit the same way

So damn true.  That's why I'm a bit iffy right now.  Champs released them late online, and people could already call to order beforehand.  Eastbay and Champs have the same stock and Eastbay came out even later, straight backordered, even though there was a FSR you could still add to cart on Champs.  It was easy to add to cart and check out, but then you see the damn things are backordered.
 
I don't think these are hyped, they just look like a clean *** colorway and details to me, albeit limited or not.

Edit: just checked ebay and :smh:

I went and grabbed em at Champs at lunchtime.  The 12 was waaaaay too small, had to snag the 13.  I have the Megawatts and BCA's in a 12 and they fit great FYI.  1/2 size up for sure on these.  They are BANANAS in person, they won't sit long if at all.  Such a clean colorway, reminds me of my LeBron PS Elites.
 
i don't think i've been as excited about any nike shoe in a while. all the photos on the last two pages are great - you get a rep, you get a rep, everybody gets a rep!
 
the pics dont do any justice to how the gold looks in person...they were literally just glistening when i walked into champs and saw them on the wall :smokin

socal heads the lakewood champs had some bigger sizes (10.5 & up) when I went around 2 to pickup mine. definitely size up .5-1 though. these and the jerry rices are on the same level to me
 
I don't remember why but I remember them saying that they would no longer offer support on NT. Probably got flamed 1 too many times :lol:.

I don't remember his name but I do remember the one dude would always look out with the early info :pimp:.
 
Got a backorder email from eastbay. Actually said they're out of stock. Probably gonna be canceled. Maybe not quite as easy to get as it seemed. NDC shipped though.

Just copped these from the Niagara Falls Nike Factory Store via phone order for $79.99. I have been searching for these on Google but have found no info. There are literally NOWHERE else. Don't sleep. The person who I got this pic from is selling these for $200
