The 67-63 2014 CLEVELAND INDIANS season thread (at CWS): Swisher out for the season.

Mark Reynolds :x :smh: that free agent money :nthat:

2-0 like fam said on espn the "Win-dians"...I can dig it :nthat:

Kazmir is expected to miss 2-3 starts.

Bauer will replace him, at least for one of them. He might stay up for as long as Kazmir is out, or they might turn to Carrasco after he serves his suspension.

Not a fan of jerking elite prospects around like that. If Bauer is going to get called up, it needs to be for good. Carrasco, too, for that matter.

Took the "Under 10" on this game.

Chances it goes down like that, Kev?

If both offenses were to get going in this series, this would be the best chance. Myers hasn't started a real game since 2011 and isn't all that good, and the Indians are familiar with Buehrle.

Pitchers always have the advantage early on, though. And 10 runs isn't a small amount.

So, we're 3 for 3 on starting pitchers that scare the crap out of me. If they can just be serviceable..

Yeah...

Lonnie against a left-hander. :pimp:

Moore, Cobb and Price in Tampa is going to be one of the toughest series' of the season, so I'm glad to get it out of the way early.

Bauer tonight. :pimp:

Carrasco is starting Tuesday. Everyone is just getting pushed back a start and he will take over for Bauer in Kazmir's spot.

There we go.

Been awhile since they had someone that you know could put one out in any at-bat. Prime Hafner, I guess.

How Sharkey was Bauer last night? Missed it
It was a real show.

His stuff wasn't as sharp as it really is and he had no feel for his fastball. But the fact that he only gave up three runs over five innings when he walked the first four batters of the game and an additional three probably tells you more about him than a great start would have. I honestly thought he might not make it out of the first inning.

The craziest thing to me, and something I have never heard of from him or anyone else, is that he stood on opposite ends of the rubber, based on the handedness of the batter. So we're talking about essentially having to learn two different ways of pitching. Two different release points. That's a lot of work.

He has to learn that nibbling and trying to make 100 perfect pitches isn't how you succeed on this level. He has great stuff; he can still get outs when hitters make contact. And that's how you stay in games longer than five innings, which is something he's had a problem with.

He also did a terrible job of paying attention to runners.

Still plenty to work on, but he's a recent 22 years old. The only thing that really worries me is the rubber positioning. That came out of nowhere.

Edit: Lonnie. :pimp:

Interesting. I read something on Twitter about him moving over to the 3rd base side of the rubber and was confused.

I'll gladly take a split of these 6 games to start. Can make some hay the next couple weeks.

Was at the game yesterday, my company got a nice little gift from NIck Swisher before the game.  Anyways, crowd was really in to it real early but it didnt take long to squash that.  Pitching as a whole looked terrible.  Reynolds showed some warning track power.  One thing that is clear is the speed this team has now.  Watching Bourn on the bases will be a real treat

Felt good to be back at the park yesterday. Like he said, the place really deflated in the middle innings. High before the game, low after Hafner went yard, high when the Indians responded right away, low the rest of the way. Dead, in fact.

The sooner Jimenez gets traded/released, the faster this team will be better. Doesn't really matter who the replacement is.

The Yankees clearly made it a point to attack with breaking balls, and it worked. 13 strikeouts.

Carrasco tonight for the first time in 20 months.

Genuinely dislike this kid. No mound presence, mentally soft, bad loser.

And they're bringing in tomorrow's starter to relieve him? Oh, okay.

That was bush league. What's the point?

Cano is awesome, at least it's fun to watch him.
