Reports: Olympian Pistorius shoots dead his girlfriend

Btw, he has multiple charges up against him right now...so going down the list...

Oscar Pistorius acquitted of illegal possession of ammunition. (this stems from previous incidents of him wildin out shooting out of a car sunroof while driving)

State failed to prove the OP had intention to possess ammo. He therefore cannot be found guilty.

You can just get a fine for culpable homicide? Sheesh

Yes.

Cause technically speaking it just means you killed someone. For instance the last person I remember reading about being guilty for culpable homicide, was a woman who knocked someone over who was trying to cross a highway on foot.

She just got a fine, cause technically speaking she took that persons life, but there was no intent, and it was pretty much unavoidable here.

In my opinion, I doubt he'll get 15, but I don't see him going home after cutting a cheque.

These prosecutors suck. His story never made sense. Why would he automatically think it was an intruder in the bathroom? All he had to do was ask if his girl if she was in there. Feel bad for her family not getting justice.

I'm not defending him at all. But the B&E and armed robbery rates of privates homes in South Africa, is ridiculously high. Thinking there's an intruder in the house is common practice.

I know there's a lot of break ins in that country but he saw his girl wasn't in the bed. Why would his first thought be it's someone who broke in and not just his girl peeing in that little room where the toilet was? The he thought it was intruder excuse always sounded dumb to me. He couldn't knock on the door and say " Reeva, you in there? Ok, cool". I think people who break into houses would probably use the bathroom beforehand.

I hear you one hunna. What I have always said was this. B&E's and armed robberies are stupid high in South Africa BUT...in that situation...I would ASSUME a normal human being (by the way, I'm putting my mind as if I'm a paranoid South African who likes shooting guns on the weekend, and who's been robbed before) would wake up, see his girl missing, and goto the bathroom where I heard some noise, pistol in hand. At this point, I would point the gun at the bathroom door and first ask who's in there, and if I don't hear my girl saying "it's me, relax" etc, in that situation I am in control. I have the gun, They're now locked in the door. I would hit the panick button (I'm 99.9% sure he had a panic button in his main bedroom). Problem solved. Armed response comes, while you're there safely in the bathroom keeping the intruder in the toilet.

His story never added up to me, it never made sense, but I knew his case was circumstantial, evidence was mis-handled and there's that grey area of "intent" regarding the MURDER charge.

I wonder what the sentence will be. I hope it's not just paying a fine and he's free.

The funny part to me is that the intruder broke into his house then decided to take a dump and had the courtesy to close the door. Pistorius must've thought he was being robbed by Vincent Vega.

nah. dude said he saw that his girl wasnt in the bed..but heard a sound in the bathroom and shoots thinking its an intruder.

man please lmao

This.

Who takes acting classes to prep for his trial if it was really an accident? If I was married and accidentally killed my wife my true emotions on the stand would be enough.
