Working at a Factory Store?

Wondering if anyone has any experience working retail at the factory stores and could share their input? Im looking at picking up some part time work and was thinking about retail at a Nike factory store, or an Under Armour or Adidas Factory Store? If anyone could share their experiences working at any of the 3? Wages? Hours? Discounts? Employee Gear? etc.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nike outlets basically pay a little above minimum wage but that all depends on the person obviously. You get the in store discount and a swoosh account as well. My store provided 2 "outfits" and 1 pair of shoes at their cost, but you do get taxed on the amount of the gear from your paycheck.

The job itself depends on what position you are in..some people work in the back (preparing new product to go out, back stocking, etc), some are cashiers and work the floor, etc. It's like any other retail job, you do actually have to work and not just stand around bsing all day and customers can be d!cks.

Can't comment on NT stores or any other brand, but I imagine they are similar.

you pay for that 30% off outlet discount, and 40% nike store discount and 40% swoosh discount.. IIRC

because dont worry, you wont be seeing any of that money since you'll be giving it right back to Nike

Yep. Worked at one during college for like 2 years and it was at least entertaining in the back room b/c you got to see (and pick out) all the new stuff and just buy it but again...more than 50% of my checks were going right back to Nike weekly. Good job if you are looking for some part-time work for awhile I liked the back room way more than being on the floor b/c customers generally suck and you fold/hang a lot of clothes.

Thanks man. I feel like I'd def get some worth out of it because of employee discounts and stuff. And, yea, I realize I'd actually have to do work. Dont expect to be just hanging out all day. Mainly trying to decide if I should look into retail at a factory, or if I should try a restaurant job. Ive worked different restaurant jobs for a while and I'm kinda over it, but the money is probably a little better. Dont have much retail experience, just trying to figure out what it would be like and if it would be worth it.

So I applied last week and got a call back today. They want me to come in for a group interview? This familiar to anyone? If so, any suggestions/advice?
Thanks!

Mine was a group interview too, ended up just being me and 1 other dude if I recall. They just do it to streamline the process because they usually have quite a few applicants.

I have an interview at Nike MOA this week, i'm hyped, wish me luck >D

Was just in there on Sunday, I know some cool peeps that work there. Seems like a good store, although working at MOA in general is probably maddening after a while.

I had a group interview with about 15 other people and there were three other groups just like ours that interviewed before us. Pretty laid back interview process. I was way overdressed in a suit but that was all I have known when interviewing. But overall I enjoyed the interview process and got the job. Good luck man!

Group interview set up for tomorrow. Hopefully it goes well (fingers crossed) They said it might just be me and 1-2 others. Any advice on what to wear? I was thinking slacks with a shirt & tie. I don't want to be under dressed, but also don't want to overdress....
