Dawg, Cosby Show was going to be number 1. It crushed the ratings for like 5-6 years. Man, black or white, everbody gathered around the tv for that show. It was just that good.

But I think Martin should have been number 2. Probably the funnies black sitcom ever.

Probably meant that people these days would rather watch crap like the Jersey Shore or Kardashians.

Trashy reality Tv killed black sitcoms...... and Tyler Perry........ and these basketball wives, love and hip hop, etc shows.

Not a bad list, only a couple I've never seen.

Thanks you black jesus for TV1 and Centric for showing reruns of some of these shows though.

Good list, weird ranking. A few I simply couldn't appreciate cuz I never seen them like Julia, ROC and 227. I'm happy My Wife and Kids wasn't on this list. I was fearing it was gonna be top 5. Great to see The Boondocks up there

Different world should be in the top 10 let alone top 3. I love the boondocks and fat Albert but I feel they shouldn't be on the list

My favorite show of all time is Martin. Literally every episode is funny. I knew this list would have The Cosby Show first though due to it being number one in the ratings for so  long.

That is true but it was that great of a black show so I guess it got the pass. Same reason Fat Albert is on there probably. Show was just iconic.

The 2 shows I would've liked to see are on that honorable mention list; Parent Hood and Malcolm & Eddie. I can understand why one didn't make it but Parent Hood was definitely good enough to make the list. I liked it way more than The Cosby Show.

Very good HM list. Amen was great, One on One pre college was good. Malcom and Eddie was hillarious. Half and half was decent, I'm just a huge fan of the two girls though.
Hughley's was arguably better than Bernie mac show if you ask me.

Only thing wrong with this list imo is 1. My wife and kids not being on it. such a classic show.
2. Bernie mac show being so high (or even in the list. )
I'm sorry but Bernie mac show wasnt that funny nor good.

I've still yet to watch Everybody hates chris but I have it on my harddrive ready to watch.


ROc was def serious, I remember watching like. yo this is a movie

if you talk **** about a different world and you are black you do not belong with the eyes god gave you.

One of the most intelligent and positive black shows of all time.

What Cosby Show did for black and minority families, A Different World did for the black and minority youth putting them in a positive light and not just feeding off of corny jokes, street life, and stereotypes.
