The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

My backlog ain't that bad...

PS3
The Arkham series
Uncharted 3
Bioshock infinite (halfway thru but this game pisses me off)
Hitman Collection

Ps4
Sleeping dogs (my main goal right now)
GTA V
Wolfensein
The Evil Within

PS vita
Walking Dead season 2
The wolf among us

That's all I can think of right now. But I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Also keep in mind I have mlb the show in rotation and COD so I have enough games right now. :pimp:

Plus a couple on the other console

I wanna buy Dragon Age but I already know :smh:

I will put it in and get a quick 8 hours and then never touch it again.

This is the best part of getting older. You start to know and understand yourself

It looks good but it looks like Naughty Dog pulled a fast one again. I should've known better because the first trailer looked way too good to be actual game play.

Will still get the game because the combat looks vastly improved.
I thought it was fairly obvious that the teaser trailer wasn't meant to be construed as anything other than cut-scene footage. I mean, what made you think that was going to be game play?

Exactly what I was thinking

"This footage was captured directly from a Playstation 4."

It was clearly meant to showcase the in-game graphics. When has a company ever advertised cut-scene footage? Never, because it doesn't make any sense.

Do you know who Square Enix is, and have you ever heard their RPG series, Final Fantasy?

They used to have ads of purely cut scene cinematics.

Yeah, I know. They even tried to pass FF VIII cinematis as gameplay at one of these trade shows in the past.

I'm saying if that was a cutscene, they wouldn't have put that disclaimer before the video that states it's running on Playstation 4 hardware. They were clearly trying to pass it of as in game graphics. Which who knows, maybe it can look that good if you're in small areas like corridors.

Is the Suikoden series in chronological order or is it similiar to Final Fantasy? I might just jump to Suikoden II if it's not a requirement to have played the first one.

I wasn't clear enough. When has company deliberately tried to pass off cinematics as in game graphics recently? Saying this is running on Playstation 4 hardware doesn't make sense because cutscenes have nothing to do with the hardware. I don't think it's a big deal, it's just pretty funny that Naughty Dog is still pulling this type of stuff. I'm sure the game will still look great.

I feel like this always happens though. When we first saw MKX it was a cutscene. Teaser trailers are usually always cut scene. I think that they specify which system it is running on because people generally want to know.

Uncharted's cutscenes are all rendered by the game's engine. It's a controlled scene which is why the graphics is better than when you take control of Nate and start moving about or pan the camera around.
They don't use CGI for their cutscenes so they aren't lying and it indeed is to do with the hardware.

The Order 1886 had the same thing said for it's trailer.

The following trailer was created in engine

It's still misleading to the consumers because while it's made by the engine, it isn't in game graphics. Like you said, it's in a controlled environment where they don't have to account for enemy A.I, player interaction, and beef it up considerably. I hope they at least get close to what they showed off.

Don't even get me started on The Order: 1886.

I can't wait for The Order, something about that setting and the idea behind that game

I still thought it looked great. The real dynamic of the game from that video seemed to be just the dynamic of the world more dimensional Not totally like an open world but more options to hide, sneak attack, run away, etc. The extra animations to everything made it seemed more natural like a human. My only real negative was how it copied some things from Tomb Raider with the pick and even the environment. Hopefully that is only one level.

Agreed. Everything flowed together so seamlessly. Levels seem to be like open playgrounds now.

Depends on the final product. Looking at the footage of The Order that came out from PSX, it's matched the trailer I just posted.
Impressions say it blurs the line between cgi and in game graphics.

Uncharted is still in a pre alpha state so give it time. I don't expect in-game graphics to look like the first trailer at 60fps but I do expect it to be like the previous Unchated games where the difference between cutscene and gameplay was small.

Look at GTA V trailers. All those are in engine. They look much better than actuall in-game graphics.
