Supposedly $ony is already working on an update that will allow mp3 playback, so was potential copyright infringement issuses really the reason why it's not being released with the system right out the gate? 

More people using $ony's music unlimited means more $$$ for $ony, which I think is the bottom line.

$ony flip flopping so they don't catch no flack.

The fact that a $400 can't play cds right out the gate in 2013 is ridiculous.

I hope with the new consoles(ps4/xb1) I can just load my mp3s to the consoles and just play them back.

On my 360, I stream my music to it.

Can't help but notice a lot of xbone praising/sony bashing from you in multiple threads.

I almost impulse bought a ps4 from Walmart.
Then I realized that I'd barely play since the launch games list is very lackluster.
Cod ghosts is the only game I think that I'm interested in.

This next gen hype is sort of getting to me.

My brother's DS4 came in the mail the other day.  Got my hands on it today, same review everyone else is giving it, love it.  Much much improved from the DS3.

I'm just pointing out the double standard. Sony doesn't support something little like mp3 playback, not a big deal. But if it was the other way around, there would be gifs in here like a kid putting in his fav. music cd then the xb1 spits it out with a caption like "xb1 only play drm restricted games."

Dudes would be loling for pages.

I favor m$ over $ony this gen.

The music cd is an exmaple of media that should be able to be supported by the ps4 right out of the gate since it's copy-protected.

True, but its not really copy protected. the 360 is able to rip music CD's and add them to the system, but that feature was removed from the X1.

True, but its not really copy protected. the 360 is able to rip music CD's and add them to the system, but that feature was removed from the X1.

From my understanding, ripping a cd isn't a violation of copy protection.

If you make a copy of the cd, that's a violation of copy protection.

I think you ment too slow. None the less, let me educate you on how a forum works. When I refer to "you" it's meant for PS4 only kids in general. As in, "you" are quick to point out flaws in the Xbox One. Thus "you" in this situation would mean the vast majority of this thread.

But that's just it. I'm not bashing the PS4. I simply posted that the Xbox One COULD in fact play Mp3s.... See how that works? As for the 720P thing. We all know its pathetic, yet if you really think this time next year, most if not all X1 games won't be running 1080P - I'd strongly suggest you take a look at the Xbox 360 Launch line up and how games like Bioshock and Gears of War totally changed how developers approached that system.

i actually heard that xbox had the idea of overclocking their processors to try to close the performance gap. lets see how that pans out.

beyond that, i personally dont get on my xbox and play music while im playing games. none of that affects me, nor a LARGE % of gamers. and even still, that guy whos the head of something in playstation said they saw the response to not supporting it, and started working on apatch for it right away. now to me, THATS the difference here. playstation hears what the gamers want, and adjusts accordingly. xbox heard what the gamers wanted, and told us too bad so sad get used to it cuz its "the future." that is...until e3.

and thats what forced me to jump ship from xbox. the company literally ignored us, tried to force that garbage on us. and when we told them we didnt like it, they said well...tough cookies. then playstation took a HUGE bowel movement on em at e3 and THEEEEENNNN all the sudden xbox is for the gamers? nah, f outta here. i cant stand when companies act like you dont matter until you hurt their pockets then they hit u with fake customer service and appreciation. i HATE that.

its like when u go to an expensive store and they hound you cuz they think u cant afford anything in there...till they find out who u are and all the sudden u get good service..

Its kinda cool to see this response... back in 05 it was the exact opposite. Sony was King and did what they wanted... M$ listened to EVERYTHING. My my my how the times change. Props to Sony for doing whats RIGHT.
