Through a cloud streaming system, don't think its through Steam(unless you mistyped and meant stream). X1 I assume will have something similar but I haven't heard anything about it yet.

And not backwards compatible in the same way that it has been before though on console. It will probably be more like Vita BC with PSP, where you can digital purchase games from old consoles, not put the disc in and play. PS1 games might be BC still who knows, and who really cares about that at this point though.

def not a fanboy of either company, I'm going to get both, so as an unbiased consumer, these are just my concerns. I dont wanna have to keep the ps3 hooked up just to play uncharted again or whatever. hopefully they change that

Very little info on the streaming so far. It may be like that where you have to repurchase, they may let you register old ps3 games to allow access through stream(I pray to god hope).

As of now several PS1 PS2 classics you have to repurchase on PS Store, and same with PSP games on Vita. For time being people are probably best off keeping their PS3 if they want to play old games, until we get more details. Even though they probably will get sales and good numbers at launch this time around, it would probably be in Sony's best interest to allow people to register there games to PSN in a way similar to steam, and they be able to access it wherever. It would keep PS3 selling for people that want a cheaper console until PS4 drops price, and let them keep any games for future consoles.

I didn't hear any info on X1 doing it yet, but we should assume that they will eventually. PS4 won't have access to it till next year(early).

Kingdom Hearts 3 just had an announcement teaser its probably not even like 10% done yet. We'll be lucky to get it by 2016

I mean, Nomura has been working on Versus XIII for like 7 years now I think? Still no confirmed release date. I'm gonna guess we'll see it late 2014/early 2015

this is true...it may be worth it for me to grab a ps3 for now since i never had one. by the time KH3 drops ps4 would already have been out, and some of these games would be on the discount rack...

i just want to see some graphical comparisons between the ps4 vs ps3. because the ps3, even on it's own never really reached it's full potential, close, but they always talked about how they could do more...so if by doing more, would that = ps4? /i know the hardware inside the new one is crazy, nasa steeze, but I'm anxious to see how much better it is, if it's a major moon landing type of change or if it's marginal.

KH3 won't be exclusive. There's absolutely no way Sony wouldn't let it be well known if it was exclusive. Don't see why anyone would get it on Xbox tho, wouldn't feel right not playing with a PS controller

right after they announced kh3 and ff15, they specifically said that ff14 is exclusive to the ps3/4. So its not like the guy wouldve forgotten that huge point.

Because SE has slowly moved form PS only towards multiplatform over the years.

They announced KH3 and FFXV(Veruss XIII) at same time. Then immediately afterwards they mentioned FFXIV and said that would be console exclusive for PS3/PS4 . The fact that in back to back sentence they mentioned the games and only for the latter they said exclusive leads everyone to believe that the other two won't be.

At best we may see an earlier release for said games on PS4 than X1. Although they just may not have finalized whether it will be exclusive or not, and since there is so much time before release, we will have to wait to see.

Assuming its multiplat for time being.

I plan on getting a ps4 eventually but KH3 is the only thing that is a must for me....so i probably won't worry about picking up a ps4 until xmas 2014 time frame

Quick thought... I know they said gaikai streaming is a bit off in the future, and I'm sure this is a bit of wishful thinking, but what if the delay is so they can figure out a way to use game discs to "register" a game...

Ex. I own Ratchet & clank for ps3, put the disc in my ps4 then can stream from Gaikai and not have to pay.. otherwise i have to pay for it.

Hybrid is more reliable than most in these threads, but people want to hear it from SE, Sony, or M$.

But SE basically did say it when they didn't say it, right before mentioning FFXIV exclusivity.

So long as you don't want to loan the game out or resell, downloading is so much simpler.

If developers want to prevent reselling they just need to sell games only via Xbox Live and PS Store. No disc, no reselling. Charging fees for used games sounds just plain horrid. I've long since stopped purchasing PC games on disc, online-DL or Steam only for the very few PC games I play.

Some games I will buy the disc for, like Gran Turismo or 2K. Games that I would most likely take over a friends or relatives house. But I'm getting older now. I'm turning 25 this year, me and my friends don't share video games like that anymore

We all cop ourselves and play online together. I'd probably only buy a physical copy now If one of my younger cousins want to borrow a game or something.

I was never the type to trade games back in.
