It differs for each game.
It's up to the developers to use it, not Sony. I've only used it for Ghost, which it's like another select/options. Other than that, time will tell. It's only been 3 days and a handful of games, more are coming and devs will find ways to use it.

You had the ps4 for a few days and probably played less than a handful of the games that are out and are already finding one of the buttons useless ?

Ghost is REALLY good, it's Call of Duty, so you already know what your getting into, BUT there is almost zero lag and hit detection issues. My only gripe with MP is the guns seem overpowered and the spawns are ******. You get dropped in 2 -3 shots by EVERY gun, and as big as these maps are I don't know why they're spawning the dude I just killed 10 yards from me
With that said I like it better already than Black Ops 2.

Been lurking in this thread for the past few months. I have some mixed reviews about my ps4
Love the UI, simple, fluid, easy to read
The ps4 looks great sitting next to my other consoles (xbox360, PS3, and nintendo64).
Had an issue with launching Battlefield 4 when I first opened the ps4. Kept getting an error that the "application couldn't start"
Then when I finally was able to open the game it crashed during gameplay
Seems to be working now
Also, the ps4 keeps asking me if I want to install the 1.5 update which is weird because I already installed via a usb drive.
Overall I think I made the right choice in buying a ps4 over an xbox one.
Add me, my psn is dna350z. I'll be the guy horribly playing battlefield 4 or ac4.

Yeah and don't expect huge features out of it on games that aren't PS4 exclusive. They'll add functionality to it in games that are multi like COD, but probably only games that are PS4 exclusive are going to involve it heavily.
Speaking of features, anyone know any games that have functional second screen features already? whether on app on phone or Vita?

What I'm trying to figure out is on bf3 you was able to have a lobby with friends and join matches together from the menu

Is it working now? BF4 worked for me the first couple days and I even played MP yesterday morning, but when I tried to play yesterday afternoon it kept crashing. Not to mention it isn't saying my campaign data. Pretty upset with that.

I have it on the 360 and so does my friend. My campaign freezes all the time so I can't even finish it and my friend can't play the campaign either because it won't save his game. Also the game freezes a lot if you don't install it your hard drive if you're on the 360
