The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

just finished chapter 6. turned off my ps4 after reading this

Man I died like 30 times on this part in chapter 7.. There is this big rush of enemies coming at you some of them have shields like in halo you got the guys who hide behind riot shields with shout guns you also have these other guys hiding behind these shields with mini guns all shooting at you and running towards you for a long time.. I seriously thought about trading this game in after turning it off lol I will come back to it later

Advice I posted earlier:
If anyone get stuck on the "Protect the Platform" part (end of Chapter 7) like I did.... go to the bottom of the platform and hide in front of the door with the doc and them in there such that the room is inbetween you and the horde coming in. Keep using the scan and just kill the guys before they can go upstairs, checking left side and right side frequently.

Was the easiest way for me by far vs camping the platform.... got killed 10+ times.

That's where I be standing during the whole
Rush I don't be on the platform.. But I didn't know you can go inside that room smh

Them dudes where attacking me from the left and right at the same time at the bottom

you cant go in the room. its just a way to throttle the enemies as well as not get shot by the people that are at a distance. maybe you could grab a nice gun from the platform before going down there. I used the one that shot impulse waves or something... cant remember the name but it stuns everyone with the 1st shot and kills them with the second. then you have to be persistent with checking the left and right.

there is a freefall part on chapter 8 I think... terrible. someone already mentioned it too so I was dreading doing it.

Hell no cod is not better at all its the same old same old I literally got bored after 3 games
bf is a literally on a different planet  I have the ps4 and both games ghost and bf4 only because my sis wanted cod and  this is coming from once cod fan until I made the switch to bf3
after all these years I don't see why people still compare the COD series to BF4. Yea they're both FPS titles but we're comparing apples to oranges. They cater to 2 diff types of groups with one being an arcade style run and gun type of game and the other being a sim shooter.

I swear whenever a person favors one they call the other trash

Battlefield is far from a simulation shooter
i favor cod, BF is trash.
Probably more accurate, no?

Finally caved and bought a turtle beach for the ps4. Sony could've just kept that trash *** earbud lol. Hopefully it doesn't take long to hook up, I know nothing about the audio, 5.1, Dolby and all that other stuff I hear about lol

I just use a pair of Bose headphones and plug it right into the controller, and i'll use the PSCamera as the mic, which i normally hate, but as long as you're using headphones, you dont get the echo from the game sounds

BEing able to hook up reg. earphones to the ps4 controller is dope!

If I buy earphones that have a built-in mic like apple's earphones, wouuld people be able to hear me if I talked into it?

Does the ps4 support that or do they need to patch that in?

Can someone with 3.5" earphones that has a mic test this on the ps4?

I'm pretty sure it will work.

pretty sure I can be wrong too.
We can't even do basic stuff like stream music to our consoles yet, so I'm hesitant/won't be surprised if this doesn't work.

I pretty sure you can use iPod earbuds, it worked for me when I was playing CoD. Nobody else were using mics so Im not sure if you can be heard, but the "sound" icon did blink eveytime I spoke. I just needed to get a decent headset that i could use to route the volume of the TV to the headset. The wife complains that the TV be too loud during the night

Talked a little bit about monitors in this thread earlier.  Now i'm looking for one on black friday specifically for gaming.  Whats a sweet spot in terms of size, i'm looking at a 27" LG at bestbuy for 199.  Theres an IPS display, an LCD, and LED for around the same price.

What are the differences?

What was the voice quality like in comparison to the voice quality of sony's earbud? Better or worse?

In your 2nd to last sentence, you're basically saying that you need a headset with volume controls right?

If you're talking about earphones, check out the Jlabs brand.

I've used their earbuds and I love them.

I have no idea was IPS is.

From the very basic knowledge I have, LEDs use LCD panels with LED backlights.

LCDs are the same as LEDs, but they don't have the LED backlight.

I don't care much for the quality of the picture.  I care more for the least amount of input lag in a monitor.  Will use it to play multiplayer PS4 games/starcraft 2.

Edit, i do care about the picture quality, but more for the lack of input lag

You'd want a tv or monitor that is truely 120hz.

It sounded more clear compared to Sony's earbud. Whenever I use it I hear static in the background, I figured maybe I already broke it or something (I went through a few of the headsets that the 360 came with, they were just too cheap for me and it just seems like I always broke them.)

Yea Im not sure what it's called but I just want to hear everything in the game coming from the headset/earbud, without having to turn the TV up too loud.

There's a setting on the ps4 that allows you do to do that with any headset that you hookup to the ps4.

IDK how to get there, since I'm not by a ps4.

So here's what I found:
You can set the audio that is output to the device such as a headset. You can output all audio, or output only chat audio. Select [Sound and Screen] > [Audio Output Settings] > [Output to Headphones]. The default setting is [Chat Audio].
I've tried it with my earphones, it's dope!

I prefer it that way than with the audio coming through the tv.

I feel that it makes the game more "real."
