So I'm to believe Sony is helping with development, but didn't pay a dime for exclusivity. Suuuuuuuuuure

Think about it.
Sony and Microsoft probably both have people that work with the teams developing for the next gen systems. Xbox presence in Japan is pretty weak and Sony and Capcom are based in Japan, leading me to believe the exclusivity came a lot more naturally than Titanfall did.
Given what we know now, what console do you think devs prefer developing on? Capcom has said next gen is 8-10x more work
, so debuting their next gen engine (with a f2p game) on the more capable console doesn't come across as a shocker. It's not like we're talking Resident Evil 7 here.
Is this a game that the Xbox crowd would really get into? Xbox crowd wants skyrim, not this. We can't even be sure it's a lifetime exclusive at this point anyway. It might come to Xbone eventually.
What are Xbox's F2P policies? I see that World of tanks is locked behind Gold. Project Spark isn't. What they were at the timte Deep Down began development could've played a factor. F2P games across the board don't require a subscription on Sony platforms. That makes PS4 a more appealing system to debut on.
So yeah, there's reasons Deep Down can be exclusive on PS4 beyond Sony paying for it.
Can't say the same about Titanfall. It's a cross platform game based on modified current gen engine. Nothing the PS4 couldn't handle (at 1080p
.) It'd be pretty easy for Sony to get people in touch with Respawn (or another dev to handle the port) to help put out a Titanfall port 6- 12 months after it debuts on Xbone/ 360/ PC.
Only reason Titanfall isn't coming to PS4 is because MS couldn't bear to have this game sell more and look better on the PS4 than Xbone this early in the generation. That, and EA is the worst company in America©.
