Best for competitive gaming/FPS? a monitor by asus or belq.
Best for single player/sports/visuals? Plasma. Plasma has extreme contrast ratios and up to 600 htz refresh rate.

This is something I noticed recently.
I had a 20" and I used to murk **** in COD.
To the point where I really prefer to play shooters on the smaller TVs.

if you want full a 1080P HD then you need at least a 40" screen or bigger
