The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

Don't forget the possibility of them doing a FF XII HD remake, I know some of you who would be pissed but I'd rather have an HD remake sooner rather than later, I dont plan on playing my PS3 in 2016, now if they made FF XII HD for the PS4

Anybody else excited for the WWE network app coming next week

5.3 million is a lot.

Do you guys know if Sony has made a profit yet?

I remember reading that the consoles were being sold at a loss.

They're probably selling it with a profit. Sony said they needed every PS4 sold to be bought with a game to make a profit, but you also need to factor in PS plus.

SCE made a profit last quarter so it's doing well.
I think the console itself is sold at a slight loss but they had the bulk of next gen multiplatform sales plus their first party titles and with PS+ like sole said which equaled a profit.

Ahh Man :smokin :smokin :smokin Amazing that RAD were able to transfer their technical skills onto a console game like this. I was skeptical about The Order before info starting coming out because they didn't really work on consoles before, skepticism is gone :nthat: And I thought Sony already owned these guys but they don't. That'll change in the next year

And this was just said by Thuway :nerd:

Sam's game? Or could be that open world RPG GG is supposedly working on.

Infamous, Driveclub, The Order, The Show, FF14 and Planetside 2, quite a decent lineup of exclusives for the PS4 this year, and Sony probably has more to announce for 2014.

What Sony did well was to allow their so called B Tier developers to shine and it looks like they're stepping up the plate.
How RAD jumped from Ghost of Sparta to The Order, I'll never know.

Yea I'm thinking it's Crash too; I see alot of people who don't play games like that on twitter/instagram reminisce of growing up playing Crash Bandicoot. It would be huge imo for Sony

It's ironic Kitase said if the demand is high for a FF XII HD they will consider it. However ever since the FF VII tech demo in '06, people have been enthused about a remake. I know development would to be heavily different from FF XII HD but dog imagine exploring underwater in the sub and seeing Emerald Weapon with the graphics used in FF XV

You would think they would be more open to the idea of remaking all of their older PS titles, they'd make plenty of money, Ill never understand. I already gave up on a FF VII remake though

PS1 though ?
Oh yeah, I have Wild Arms, Xenogears, Dragon Quest(Warrior) 7, Star Ocean, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono
Cross, Resident 2+3, Rival Schools, and Grandia. I started some of these games but I'm still early in the game
tho. I never got to finish Grandia so many years ago.

I just started that not too long ago. I'm somewhere in the beginning after that spider robot
fight.

Just read about this. Sadly this is the business. It's not uncommon at all to have the biggest release of the year and still get dropped from the team at a moment's notice. We always say that nobody is safe in that industry, and this is just another example of how true that statement is...

Lots of things happen. You can work on something for a few years, be totally invested in it mentally and physically, and then it gets scrapped. You can finish working on something for 5 years of your life just to have someone play it and be like "Eh, it was OK". Then get laid off right after release. Thankfully most good industry people always land on their feet because they're driven, hard working, and talented.

Very true. I remember working on this mode on one game for so long, day in and day out, weekends and everything, just to have it dropped in the end. It's funny because to this day, the mode still has not appeared in the game. It's a great idea too, but it was hell to try to implement.
