Scary as hell is this real?

In other news just preordered SS

:rolleyes that's exactly who this game is for, though. You arent gaining new fans with HD remasters.

If you are expecting anything other than the 2 original games with a new coat of paint, I dont know what to tell you.

not necessarily true.... I mean look at how many ppl jumped on tomb raider for example.... for ps4 its basically and scaled up (graphic wise) same as the ps3 and pc version no different..... or hell even that commando/ikari warriors knock off that is dead (lame) nation....

Its just certain games particularly in the rpg and fighting genre that has a cache that no matter what its gonna get a top score regardless of how the game truly is just off the homerism/favoritism of the genre....

I disagree with you on a few things...

1. Tomb Raider came out a year ago. The "Definitive Edition" is essentially a GOTY package which is completely different than a remaster. Its put out for the people who missed it on original release. A remaster is targeting fans of an old, usually great game to re-purchase it years after release while offering some additions. And as much as people tend to ignore or even loathe trophies/achievements, its a huge way to entice people to repurchase a game they may have already played without it. Dead Nation is free to 90% of people that own a PS4.

2. I disagree that Final Fantasy gets a pass simply due to the name of the game. Look at XIV when it first released. Look at the criticism of XIII. Hell, look at the reviews of Lightning Returns. I'd argue that the opposite of your point is true; people hold Final Fantasy to such a lofty expectation that anything short of amazing is treated as bad.

3. Arguing that fighters and RPG's are held to this different scoring method and NOT include shooters is a little laughable. Explain to me how Battlefield 4 gets the reviews it does had it not had the name it does? Call of Duty, year after year?

Again, your opinion is yours and is a valid one. I just see things differently.

I mean I didn't mention shooters cause that pretty obvious especially c.o.d series... but lets not act like for example the street fighter series... in particular 3... they basically outside of adding characters repackaged the same game for literally a decade and ppl and eviewers alike were acting as if they redefined/did something epic ground breaking or something...

And I have never seen a ff game get a bad review.... sure less then perfect or damn near perfect... but bad heck no..... Same like my example the street fighter series...

As far as call of duty some of their games did get poor or low reviews... its the fanboys that often time hold it in such high regards... With ff even since its older system days.... the games/series has been in most part been reviewed as the greatest series of games EVER.. And to me that is biased based on one a love/fav of a certain genre over others... and a homerism for the series itself...

To me for a game to be in high regards as ff has been it has to be beloved in most part by the masses and ppl who love a myriad of genres and don't hold rpg's/jrpgs as their favorite etc... aka like a gta has done...

Lets face it while the series etc... is popular... a good portion and percentage of its fans are ppl who in most part see jrpgs/rpgs> all other genres.... or ppl who specifically only or mostly play just that genre of video games...

And there lies the problem I have with these reviews... they often times are graded and reviewed by ppl who solely or majority only play that genre... or see that genre as higher leaps and bounds above all other genres...

Like example ppl will use oh you have to be into the series and/or have to be a die hard rpg etc... fan in order to love xyz certain ff game... To me that constitute as not a very good game... Like the gta in particular san andreas... you didn't have to be a die hard gta fan or be into the gangsta lifestyle etc... or that genre of game to enjoy it... it was general loved and well received by all... same with like Mario games etc...

Same with this new south park game.. its good review is partially bias due to fans of the tv series... if you judge the game just on its merits and gameplay it is borderline suckage... And often times that how many of the reviewers approach when grading reviewing ff series or hell just rpgs in generals.

Just finished Brothers.
I have Metro, Payday2, Bioshock, and Tomb Raider from PS+ that I haven't played yet.
Which one should I play next and which one is shorter?

payday2 is kinda quirky and really is only ok/good when playing multiplayer... solo and its weak... the ai is horrible... and they make some stupid decisions and many of the faults and flaws are exposed... tomb raider and bioshock are def the strongest out of that set of games..

Just finished Demon's Souls. Pretty disappointed I haven't found out about the series earlier and now I might decide between Dark Souls 2 or Second son.

In the mean time I want to go back and finish Remember Me but simply knowing I have Tomb Raider available, I must just skip to that.

Didn't even know you could play Demon's Souls. I thought the servers were down or something of that sort

That could've been true, I know they recently put it available for PSN though. And I'm pretty sure I played this game the easiest way possible. I had two friends going through every world with me destroying everything. Still had a lot of fun and know for a fact there should've been a lot more dying and soul lost.

Damn. Might cop this today, how much on PSN?

"Sony’s Gone ‘Back to the Drawing Board’ to Make Driveclub ‘Great’"

The energy surrounding the upcoming PlayStation 4-exclusive racing game Driveclub has largely gone from excitement to skepticism. Driveclub was one of the first PlayStation 4 games revealed, and comes from Sony-owned Evolution Studio, a developer that not only understands the racing genre (it made its name on the MotorStorm franchise), but a developer that undoubtedly had very early access to PlayStation 4.

Revealed as a launch title, Driveclub was unceremoniously delayed on the eve of PS4’s western release, creating questions as to what’s going on with it. We got a chance to speak to Sony’s Scott Rohde – one of the men in charge of Sony’s family of first party studios – about the status of its phantom racing game.

“What I will say is that it all comes back to that fundamental principle, and that’s that we want to build great games,” Rohde said. “And we really don’t want to release a game before it’s ready. And sometimes, this happens in the normal course of business, where we think we’re on track to deliver what we think is going to be a great game, and when we get closer, we realize that we’d be doing everyone a disservice if we shipped it before it was ready.”

“So, I think that at PlayStation, perhaps more than at other places, we’re willing to kinda eat that [cost],” Rohde continued, “and go back to the drawing board and make sure the game is great before we ship it. And that’s what’s going on right now with that game.”

When asked about when it’ll launch, Rohde said, “We’re not announcing any specifics on that yet.” When pressed on if it would still come out sometime in 2014, Rohde refused to say, though Sony PR stepped in to say that we’d get more details soon.

That's referencing that they've already delayed it right? Not that they're delaying it a second time. Right? :\

The more details soon part. Could that have anything to do with the rumours that Sony is going to reveal a VR headset and that DriveClub is going to be one of the games with VR support?

Yes. Misleading headline. Although, from what I've read, we shouldn't expect Driveclub before Q4 of this year. Sony shouldn't have revealed it last February.
