The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I refuse to purchase one of those new DS4 from overseas ...I'll either wait until they are available in the US or I'll just buy a regular black one and call it a day.
why? b/c of import costs or something else?

Yes. One of the reasons, in addition to it being a personal choice. The only reason to purchase overseas is if you absolutely cannot wait until it's available here. I'm in no hurry, I have patience.

A. The Saturn didn't have a "The Last of Us."

B. Even in this mythical world where Dreamcast came out with 20-30 new games, look where Sega is now. Out of the console making business. So Sega is probably the last company Sony should model their console after. Games are way more expensive to make now, so releasing them to a install base of ~7 million isn't a wise business move. It doesn't have anything to do with being lazy. The industry is just different now.
it isn't lazy so much as it is cheap and its easy money.... my thing is and I guess its the buyer... but to rush out to buy a new system to play prior system games to which you already have the system iuno... Plus as far as dreamcast they failed for a myriad of reasons... It wasn't because of games.

Game systems is just like anything else trends of todays time... ie selling the same ole jordans over and over again... rehashing same ole movies over and over again.

I know some ppl may have not had the older system but most ppl who got a ps4 had a ps3/360...

I mean I could understand if there was added levels remixed etc... aka like what dlc's do... but and maybe this is just me... but I didn't buy a ps4 to play the games I have on ps3... I might as well play the ps3...

And then it propose the question why buy a ps4 when you have a ps3 to play ps3 games... when you can just play ps3 games... its cheaper... Tell you the truth they are really doing this because one... they know ppl just rushed out and got the system just cause just to say hey I got it first...and all these ported games is to appease ppl from buyers remorse...

And at least they could sell the games cheaper... I love tlou... but not so much that I would pay twice as much as it cost now for ps3 just to play it with a ds4 controller...(even tho the controller is the ish) But to have a system out and if you don't count ports etc... have less then 5 games in almost over half a year is kinda cheating the true diehard fans who actually support the company throughout the yrs...

I guess im just one of the few who buy a new system I expect and want new games... not repackaged games costing 60-70 bucks that I could easily walk into a used game store and get for 20 bucks or so...

I did this once with my 360...maybe it was just my bad luck but the controller didn't hold up as long as the one I bought in the states.. like the rubber on the sticks faded wore off faster... it iuno even tho it was a licensed product... it had me thinking I got some b grade factory variant controller.

I typically don't like ports, but I think Last of Us on PS4 will sell a lot of copies. I am one of the many people who had the Xbox 360 last gen and missed out on playing the original (I watched my roommate play through it tho). I know I'll pick it up once it's released, as well as everyone else who converted from the 360.

Bro you never know wtf you gettin when you buy overseas. The same can be said about products here but at least I can return if I so choose. Ever return sumthin overseas? ...me either but I'm sure it's not so as easy as if it came from the US.

I wish it wasn't full price, but if there's one game that has released in the last 3 years that I'm willing to pay $60 to enjoy again on a next gen console, it's TLOU.

You should have waited a year....

definitely copping TLoU.  Borrowed my friend's copy and never got to play the multiplayer which i heard is great and requires a team effort. Never played the DLC either.

Game is a masterpiece.

and for you X1 guys, you'd love it, it has guns.

I feel bad for Sony and Naughty Dog, I'm sure they wanted TLOU:R to be a E3 reveal, smh. Hopefully that means something else that was not going to be announced takes the lime light.

Anyways, I'm buying the PS4 version, didn't beat the PS3 version before I sent it back to GameFly. Oh well. I kinda figured it would make its way to PS4 in some form.

its not that im against don't like ports.... but when you have like 20-30 games its kinda excessive for only like 3 or so games being a new game... but yea tlou will sell hell all 3 uncharted games probably would sell like hotcakes...

I don't know how late I am but I had my beats by dre headphones plugged in to the controller and the playstation let me talk to it  and guide it to different things

the mlb comparison video looks close enough to me. no reason to buy ps4 if you're trying to simply update graphics imo

I wish there was 1080p/60fps footage, but yeah the PS3 still looks great.

Naughty Dog should make the harder difficulty settings available from the start for TLOU:R

Agreed. Playing without the ability to see though walls on the harder difficulty made for a much more tense/fun/overall enjoyable game. Don't want to have to play through twice again to attain the capability to play on hard mode.
