The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I played Wind Walker HD today for the first time, ****ing impressed the hell out of me with its looks. Also got to play that Mario game where you turn into a cat or can use the tanooki suit.

Now I'm deciding if I want a Wii U or PS Vita next.
Just realized I bought the Wind Waker HD bundle and still haven't played it, too many game not enough time

Prediction:

E3 2015, Nintendo announces s merge with SONY. We get a first look at Zelda PS4, Mario PS4.

Where do you kids come from?

You do realize Nintendo is turning more profit than Sony and Microsoft right? In fact Xbox one is killing the PS4 in terms of what matters the most. PROFIT.

Yea, Im leaving that for the very last... :smh:

You try chocobo master yet?
Yea I finished chocobo master about a week ago. I did the butterfly chase for Kimahri, activated Auron's and Yuna's weapon. Just need to activated Rikku's weapon and get Lulu's and Wakka's. I have 9 trophies remaining (excluding Platinum) and 75 hours logged.

this is true then when you look at handheld sales... nes is killing it and it isnt even close... thing with nintendo the manufactoring cost for the system is so cheap that and overhead almost makes it impossible for them not to turn a profit. And the same thing sorta applies to microsoft...especially considering xbox's etc are nothing more then literally a mid level pc packaged as a video game system...

Where do you get your profit numbers for either of those consoles? No one has any clue how much profit or loss either company is making per console. Or per software sale. Only thing people have are estimates.

Nintendo had like $200 million in operating losses in 2012 and 2011, any they are primary a video game maker. Gameboy will always keep them alive, but A slow selling console will but them in the red for a year or two.

Walking Dead season 2 hitting the vita next week. :pimp:

season 2 or episode 2? im going to wait until they all release on disc. same thing i did with season one, i dont wanna beat an episode and have to wait a few moths for the next.

Oh word, so when I checked out they were gonna charge me $371? :rolleyes

Having a better valve=/=being "less"

that TF bundle was a cheaper deal tho. at $450 you only gettin the system with the PS4.

how is the XBOX "KILLING" the PS4 in terms or profits? theres already been price cuts on the system and its top selling game (TF). Serious question.

its not killing ps4 but production cost for m$ is much cheaper therefore they make more offa the system then sony does... ie if ps4 cost 400 and it cost them 250 a system...and xbone cost 450 and cost them 150 to produce...therefore the profit margin made from the system is more.

So xbone doesnt sell more system.. but they do make more offa the system then sony makes offa theres and nintendo makes more offa there systems then all...

wii while it did kill both systems in terms of units... what they really killed ps3/360 is in terms of profit margins of the system... even at 150/99 dollars the wii is still turning a profit due to how little it cost them to make the system.

So it's cheaper for Microsoft to make a system yet they charge more for an inferior product?

Man those xbone dude are getting bamboozled

well thats why i never really bought one until it goes on sale and/or can be flashed jtagged... Im like for what they charge i could just get a good/great graphic card for a pc and play games for microsoft so called "exclusives" much cheaper and with a helluva lot better graphics smoother and usually and overall better version.

In nintendos case atleast they dont charge as much and come with great exclusives and originality...plus just overall fun games....iie like mario games, zelda etc...

I've noticed the theme that nintendo's first party games rarely go down in price. Some 3ds are $30-$40, yet they released years ago.

Then you have the prices for exclusive wii u games.

Is this due to the fact that, you can only get those games on nintendo or is it because of something.

I was on amazon looking at the wii u and wii u game prices. Nintendo plz.

ok and what they charge to cost micrfosoft makes more... if it cost sony 372 bucks to make the system...which using common business sense anyone could see this is all bs... but lets go with what this article says... they only make 18 bucks... if it cost 450 for m$ to make xbone and they charge 500... um 50 bucks is more then 18... thus they make more off the system then sony does...

i didnt use exact numbers thats why i said lets say an suppose... all i was saying m$ makes more offa there system then sony does... to which end of the day they still do. Even in those so called "real numbers" Microsoft is a multi-billion dollar company...considering sega debacle in the past... do you really believe less then a yr later m$ would sell a system to which it will cost them thus losing everytime they sell a system...

Based on those numbers plus the latest deal...we are suppose to believe m$ this early in the game is losing roughly 50-60 bucks everytime they sell a system? I mean i get it its an article and so it seems credible.. But just basic business knowledge would tell you microsoft aint going out paying ppl 50-60 bucks to go buy their system...

I think the only time first party Nintendo games go down in price is when they become a "Nintendo Select" formerly known as "Player's Choice".Im  not sure why its like this though, I always thought it was because most first party Nintendo titles sale i.e. Mario, Zelda, etc

ive notice that too with wii...it was like waaaaaaaay after games like paper mario, mario party, galaxy etc... came out they would still be reg price... Im like ok its damn near 6 plus damn near a yr later and u selling the game full price. nintendo is weird like that they games typically dont cost a lot...they take forever to go on sale... and then the trade in value is basically ish...not that thats nes fault

Idk bruh, their trade in value is usually high for me. I traded in New Super Mario Bros. Wii, MK Wii and Pokémon Black and got almost $70+ all those game have at least 4 years, I think but the cost will usually stay at retail until it hit that Nintendo Select
