The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I agree. COD is introducing dog. Such a stupid gimmick. I had the last BF but never had a real squadso I gave up on it too early. I'll be back for good this year.

whats dog?
It's the newest thing in cod.. A dog.. a German shepherd dog

And more round scopes I think.. And scars on your hand

Also fish move out of the way when you get close to them.

dont forget rocks have shapes now

And iYen 100% agree..l the 360 controller was far superior to any playstation controller imo.. except for fighting games cause their dpad was doodoo.. but for everything else the 360 control was the goat.imo

How can a controller that can't play every game be considered better than one that can? Kobe not better than Bron dawg! Lol

Cause it plays everything else 100x better.. DS4 is looking to be the new goat.

We shall see.. it's all personal preference at the end of the day.. the 360 just felt better in my hands personally.. If the DS3 felt better to you then it's a better controller for you no biggie

tbh I just was way to used to DS since I used it from DS1 to 2 to 3.

I guess the people who didn't use DS for multiple generations are mostly the ones that had such a problem with the 3. I didn't find 360 controller better or worse though, it was 100x than orginal xbox controller, which was universally hated.
Maybe I'm an outlier, but I found the 360 controller to be far superior to the ds3.
I owned a ps1 and ps2 before buying a 360.

ME TOO, I THINK I LIKE THE OFFSET OF THE STICKS ON THE 360 BETTER. SUITS ME BETTER FOR FPS WHICH IT SEEMS THAT'S WHAT MICROSOFT HAD IN MIND WHEN THEY DESIGNED IT. THE PS3 CONTROLLER SEEMS BETTER FOR SPORTS AND FIGHTERS. BOTH GENRES I DON'T PARTAKE IN. LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING OUT THE DS4 THOUGH TO SEE IF ANYTHING HAS CHANGED FOR ME.

By everything else, you mean shooters. Let's face it, this is what it basically boils down to. Last gen was dominated by shooters and the 360 controller was best suited for shooters. Let's not act like the 360 controller had some kind of advantage when it comes to rpg's, 3D/2D platformers, driving games, puzzle games, and so on and so forth. Microsoft knows their audience. When the PS2 was dominating the market I never heard any complaints about the form factor of the PS controller. It wasn't until the wave of fans into shooters came to the forefront that people started to complain.

Yeah, you're probably right

But like I said.. personally the 360 controller felt better in my hands.. it could have been cause I was so used to it before I picked up a ps controller and it just felt so light and and not as comfy in the hands

I don't play puzzles games or rpgs so I can't answer that there

To be honest, Forza with the 360 controller was difficult once you get late in the game, as the dead spots in the joysticks force you to over or under compensate. I believe there was a setting to compensate this, but I could never get it right.

As far as RPG's go, Ive played one or two (hundred) on each system and the difference is really negligible. I prefer a dualshock, but thats just from years of Playstation RPG's. 360 controller works just as well.

I can understand that Carver. It's a lot about what you're used to. You play a lot of shooters and get used to that 360 feel and weight I can imagine it being hard to go back to a DS. I've always played a ton of fighters so one touch of that dpad and I never wanted to hold a 360 controller again lol.

I prefer the DS3, but I still like the 360 controller, don't get me wrong. They both have their advantages. I just always find the DS3 bashing ridiculous.

The DS3 could use some tweaks. The 360 controller wasn't ideal either though. Those marbles for face buttons are terrible if you play a game that makes constant use of them over the shoulder buttons. Same with the D pad. I really don't like the battery pack on the back of the 360 controller. It's not comfortable holding it with it there because your fingers are wedged between it and the handles.

Yeah I forgot about the marbles and the battery pack. Not a fan of either. Marbles always felt stiff and I've had my DS3 since release and still get hours of gameplay without charging. Rotate two controllers and I'm good, f buying batteries smh.

Here's a question nobody seems to know the answer to...

Why does the new contoller still have a battery pack? It's 2013.

This is the truth.. the play and charge is pretty much mandatory they should just add it in the box.. but then again it's M$

Wait a minute. Do we still have to buy double A's or a play and charge kit for the X1 controller?

I figured it would be standard to have a built in rechargeable battery and pack in a mini USB cable with the console like the PS3.

You need AAs and m$ is selling a "new" play/charge kit.
