Chrono Trigger, without sounding too over dramatic, is an absolute must. Story, gameplay, everything. Alot of people have it as greatest game of all time, not to mention RPG. It's not my personal favorite, but its pretty damn close.

Only thing is I dont know how it has aged, as I havent played it in probably 5-6 years.

Chrono Cross isnt as good, but that's like saying a 97 isnt as good as a 100.

Just be prepared for a time-sink. They are both really long games, especially if you want to see all the endings/characters.

It might be weird for you, as alot of the games that followed these lifted some of their best elements, so they might not seem as new to you.

I feel like I'm just buying games to buy them. I definitely going to pick these up now. I'm really going to need to make a list of my backlog and prioritize in which order to beat them

This x 100000

:smh:

I'll try and abstain, but let's be serious.

Exactly  I feel like I'm buying games just to buy them now too.

Since abstaining isn't a realistic option, I think I'm going to restrain myself to the Metal Gear Solid HD collection and both Chrono titles. I never beat Trigger when I played it on an emulator years ago, so this is the perfect chance to give it another shot... eventually.

i had to google image search Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, and it looks like one of those japanese anime porn games...

dont know the difference between these two either

Atelier Meruru Plus: The Apprentice of Arland
Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland

never played

Muramasa Rebirth 7.49

Persona 4 Golden 14.62

Ys: Memories of Celceta 19.59

I know a lot of you on here love Persona 4.  Ys gets some love too.  If you could play only 1 of those 3 listed above, which one?

Also if anyone has info on Danganronpa and the Atelier games, cant view at work

That PSN sale.

Was gonna pick up the MGS HD Collection from Amazon a couple of weeks ago.

Glad I didn't because I would've been pissed.

I've watched the Danganronpa anime. It's pretty much a murder mystery series. I assume the games are no different.

Persona 4, Y's, Muramasa, in that order.

Danganronpa is very similiar to Persona 4 in that it is a muder mystery, anime styled game involving school kids, but plays more like Ace Attorney. I played it briefly and it seemed like it would be fun.

Atelier is a VERY niche series of games that are RPG's at the core, but really focus on using alchemy to combine and create items to advance. I bought Rarona and really hated it, so I tend to pass on all Atelier games.

I was so close to buying Final Fantasy Chronicles for the PS1 because Chrono Trigger was on it a couple days ago.

These sales man. My backlog is like that veteran boxer that refuses to go down and just keeps getting back up. :smh:

Any hardcore original socom 1 and 2 fans left on this board?

If you haven't heard, the creative director of socom 1 and 2 got enough start up money from kick starter to recreate the magic so to speak of those games in a brand new title for ps4 titled H hour worlds elite. They are still looking for publishing but if all goes well the game will be out in September 2015.

Anyways here is very early build of the game. Footy just released today.

Blew my mind

Graphics and interface is all place holder.

A video kind of co-signing what a few of us said about Suikoden 2 in this thread.

I heard that during my weekly listen of Podcast beyond. He has piqued my interest as I've never played it. However, I hope its a HD remake rather than a straight re-release, and I hope it comes to Vita too as I just put my order in for the slim.

I know purists are gonna argue that altering the game in any way would somehow detract from its greatness, but my philosophy is: the story is the story, and the battle system is the battle system, (which together pretty much constitute the backbone of any great JRPG) so as long as you keep those two things the same, then why not spruce up the visuals?

I doubt you see it as anything other than a PSOne classic. Konami disbanded the team, and the last game was a PSP one that sucked.

Sure they could get another company to do the remaster, but It's not Final Fantasy... there aren't people really checking for Suikoden.

I hope I'm wrong, but Konami is Konami.

Just copped a PS4 today and havent got any games yet.. what do you guys think I should buy??  I loved games like last of us, bioshock infinite, zombie u..

Oh I have. On PSOne through the Anthology collection.

I just bought it on the PS Store like a year ago thinking, "I love this game, I'm going to beat it again".

... and have never even started it.
