The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

i rather just get new/innovative new gen games period. It was a time long ago in a far away galaxy called 90's early 2000's when a game system came out with new gen game to coincide with a new gen system.... They put out good/great games that were new at launch and very month or so continued to do so. Granted you had duds...but there was some good ones gems among the pack
The last good launch title that I could think of was Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast. What are these launch titles you speak of?

Given the lack of games and the amount of games that have been delayed, it supports that next gen should have came in 2015 or 2016. For me personally, i'd need 5 great games to justify copping a next gen console. Inf3 barely qualifies as a good game. Still waiting on the other 4(Fc4, horizon, ff15, kh3).

In that scenario I envision all the games being delayed into 2017-2018. I don't think it would have mattered. IF you push back the consoles devs probably push back the time they start working on next gen games and continue focusing on current gen.

Bingo.
I see, but I'd rather that they(console makers/devs) would break the cycle of debuting consoles with mediocre games.
I would have already been on the next-gen money team, had there been actual games(worth playing at launch).
What better way to start the next gen than GoWing hard in the paint?

GOWing hard in the paint?

Mediocre? I don't know if you're talking about launch games or delays anymore, but I've found enough games to play since getting my PS4 at launch. Whether a game is good or not is mostly subjective. You don't have to buy the console day one. And if you don't have one of the new consoles, why does it concern you?

I was talking about the launch games. None of which worth $60(imo). Most I would argue were just joint purchases(Oh, I have a ps4, might as well cop this game).

Yes, they're mediocre. Which past launch games were great to you or that you still play to this day? The only one that comes to mind for me is COD2. That game was/is amazing.

"You don't have to buy the console day one." That's true, but I would assume that $ony would love for everyone to buy their console sooner than later.

I don't think I understand your last question. I own a ps4 controller, a couple ps4 games, and 2 years of ps+. It concerns me a little bit.

My point is that if there were a decent amount of "good" games available, people like me would be on the next-gen train.

The console's been out for some months and you're already seeing posts like "my ps4 is collecting dust."

Imagine $ony's console unveiling and they announced that Uncharted was a launch game.

Son...

I would have copped the Sully's mustache special edition, just for good measure.

I saw a bunch of PS4s at my local Best Buy the other day. I was considering finally picking it up, but then I looked at the games selection :x :x :x There's absolutely nothing out that's worth paying for. Haven't played any video games since Last of Us :smh:

I think may people bought all the AAA titles on last gen consoles i.e. Ghosts, BF4, AC4, 2K, Madden, Fifa. If those titles were only available on PS4/X1, I don't think people would be complaining as much. I think a lot of people bought those titles on last gen consoles, then bought PS4/X1 and didn't want to repurchase the same titles. Ps4/X1 had the best launch lineup ever as far as AAA titles go.

I bought Need for Speed Rivals at launch and still play it today.

Don't forget inFAMOUS, Driveclub and Watchdogs were meant for launch

What you've described is the typical launch woes for most platforms and early adopters know this.

I mean this time round it is kind of a slap to the face since we were given a release date for many games then they're pushed back. It would have been better if they weren't given a date in the first place but even still, compared to other launches this has been one of the better ones imo with the help of third party titles.

2015 IS looking hot and we've not even had E3 yet.

Whatchu buyin PS4 games for if you don't have the machine? Like I said. "Good" games is all subjective. Also, the cross generation AAA games still count.

Something tells me you would still be moaning if the system launched with Uncharted.

I hate how all the anticipated games are gonna release in the Oct-Jan window. Not enough time to play all the ones I'm looking forward to...

Meanwhile there are no games to look forward to at all this summer.

My brother has a ps4. Good is subjective, but whether or not a game is worth $60 is not. IMO, a $60 game should be able to give you 12 hours of entertainment(2 hr/$10).

I base this on movie ticket prices.

Your passive agressiveness tells me that your argument is faltering.

About to play that UFC demo, I hope those graphics really are as mind blowing as they were in those gifs.

Yeah I suggest it ME is really great series in general imo. Once you get over the combat in ME1 and the ending in ME3 I think the rest of it is great
