The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

I saw a video of some gameplay from KZ last night..... gotta be honest, I don't really think the graphics look like that much of a jump. I'll have to see more footage from other games.

Still got mine pre-ordered though. Did the first week they allowed them.
To be honest I think people will be stunned with the graphics.

There's only a handful of games that were 1080p and all we've seen are compressed videos from youtube or streams. When you see it on your TV then we'll see the difference.

As for people complaining about the DS4 lightbar it's a moot point.

I like many others have a PS Move and no one said anything about a light disturbing them.

I plan on scooping a new 37-42 inch Samsung tv around the time PS4 drops.

I bought my current 32 inch Samsung when I bought my first PS3 and its done awesome. But it only being 720p, I want to jump up to 1080 with at least 120Hz.

Ive seen some new sets with 600Hz... but I guess its more marketing speak than reality... and just for plasmas.

Nice. I had a friend who picked up a 60" last week. A Panasonic, and at 120Hz it really makes my tv feel old.

I would love one but the room I play in is bedroom sized, so 60" is just too big. We have a 120" projector in the living room, so its not like I can move everything out there.

I think 37" would be perfect for a small room, but I cant seem to find any that offer 120Hz... at least from Samsung.

ha i remember showing my gf my 32 inch... she started laffing telling me its small.

i showed her little big planet on it and she told me... it looks more like little small planet.

she said she needed at least 42 inches to play with me. I dumped her cuz she was a *****.

I'm just going to assume that this story is fake.

Funny, but fake.

As of right now plasmas are the only ones that come in 600hz. They're suppose to be really good for sports events and gaming. I was going to do like someone else in here mentioned and cop a model from last year or early this year but I think I'll wait till next year and cop a 4k. I saw Sears had a non name brand for $700 last week. I figure as time goes by the cost will come down for the more popular names. Didn't realize but I believe I got my Sony Bravia about a year after I got my first PS3. Still going strong.

37" - 42" seems like the sweet spot for first person shooters.  But for games like Uncharted, Last of Us, single player games, the bigger the better

I've always found 26-32in was the best for fps games personally.. every other game bigger is better

Yea, mine would primarily be for gaming, so I'll stay away from Plasma. Probably LED. Be nice if I could afford an OLED.

You looking for strictly Samsung TVs?

Toshiba has some pretty affordable 120hz 1080p TVs with good sizes like 39" priced at 399

^^ To someone that owns a Westinghouse don't trust it..

bought a 42 last year for I think 350.. I bought it just cause my TV stopped working randomly so I went to bestbuy and copped a cheap decent sized TV.. Get a trusted brand.. no codes work for this damb TV I can't even use my DishTV controller to control it

.. worked flawlessly for my TV in the basement but my damb Westinghouse.

Plan on getting a new TV and throwing this one in my sons room or something

Anything above 60 hz = input lag for gaming.

Ive been hearing this too but I cant find a definitive answer. Ive seen people say their 60Hz sets had input lag, while some people with larger Toshiba and Samsung 120Hz sets swear they have zero input lag.

Yea, I never heard of this brand either. That's why I'm waiting til next year and hopefully a Samsung or Sony gets down to the low 1000s.
